Chapter 13- Children

When the trio arrived at the senator's apartment, Ahsoka took the time to absorb her surroundings. It was clearly a well lived in, comfortable home, and there were holo pictures of the pair, some with master Kenobi and another lady.

"Who's that with you both?" She asked, pointing to a particular picture of them.

"Oh, that's us at Obi-Wan and Satine's anniversary party, I actually proposed to Padmé that evening," Anakin replied, holding his lover's hand, "good thing she said yes, that would have been an awkward party..."

Ahsoka and Padmé both giggled at his comment, and then sat down whilst Anakin put the kettle on to boil. Grabbing some juice for Ahsoka, and returning with caf for him and Padmé, he joined the pair at the table. Tuning into their conversation, he realised they were talking about him, he shouldn't have been surprised.

"- and then, he said, 'I don't like sand. It's rough and coarse and it gets everywhere...' it was his way of giving me a compliment, I think."

At this, Anakin had to interrupt her,
"Hey! For one, it is the worst, and two, I said you had nice skin! That's a compliment, right?"

"Master, do you even know how to flirt?"
Ahsoka's comment caused the older Jedi to turn the shade of a sith lord's lightsaber. He quickly grabbed his caf and went to what Ahsoka assumed was the bedroom. She turned to Padmé who was rolling her eyes, however they still held such adoration she had only seen in stories.

"He'll be back out in a bit, when he gets embarrassed he usually goes off to read, or to talk to Obi-Wan."

"How did you meet?"

"The trade federation had set up a blockade around Naboo, I was queen at the time, and I needed protection. Obi-Wan and his master Qui-gon came, and we began traveling to Coruscant, but we ran out of fuel and had to land on Tatooine. It was there I met Ani, he used to be blond you know?" Padmé smiled, she didn't want to go into too much detail, she wasn't sure how much Ahsoka knew about her partner's past.

"Oh my force. Really? I bet if he actually washed his hair it still would be!" The pair laughed again, and Ahsoka began telling her about hers and Anakin's recent trip back to his home planet.

Sharing many more laughs and anecdotes about the man who brought them together, the two felt as if they had known each other for years. Anakin came out a few hours after he had disappeared, groggy and dazed, he had clearly fallen asleep. His hair was sticking out at odd angles, and he had the print of his glove on his cheek. This sight sent the ladies into a fit of hysterics. Checking the time, Padmé realised that she would have to either cook or order some food, leaning towards the latter.

"Ahsoka, I'm gonna order some tea for me and Ani, do you want to stay?"

Ahsoka smiled at the offer, but decided that she would give the two some time alone,
"I would love to Padmé, but I think I'm going to do some work at the temple. Thank you for today, both of you, I'll see you tomorrow master?"

"Of course, see you tomorrow snips, glad you had fun, sorry I fell asleep..." Anakin responded, trailing off sheepishly. He hugged the togrutan and called a taxi to take her back to the temple. He didn't want his padawan to walk all the way back, even if it was still light.

When she left, she gave both of them another big hug, and climbed in. Padmé waved her off, and the two went inside. Anakin turned to Padmé, and whispered in her ear; her eyes widened and then she kissed him passionately. She ran towards their bedroom, holding his hand, completely forgetting about food. All she wanted was him.

"It's been too long, I love you so much Mé." Anakin panted between kisses, quickly undressing them both. He was always happiest with Padmé, he felt comfortable with her, he was safe with her. The two embraced one another, he carried her to their bed, throwing her down. He lay over her, but she quickly flipped them over so she was above him. As the pair continued to make love, Anakin allowed his fiance to take lead, it was nice not to have to be in charge. They continued throughout the evening, both thoroughly enjoying their time together.

The two fell asleep, entwined by their love, it wasn't until late in the day that they ended up ordering food, and they couldn't have been happier.
