Trigger warning, open discussion of periods, I know that can upset some people so yeah.

"Padmé and I are going to have a baby!"

Ahsoka was rather stunned, to her it seemed rather sudden, when in actuality the pair had been together nearing on two years now, and had loved each other much longer. Obi-Wan on the other hand, was swelling with pride.

"Anakin, that is wonderful, I know you'll be a brilliant father. Congratulations."

Anakin smiled with gratitude, before turning to Ahsoka. They began to discuss in more detail what she had covered with Obi-Wan whilst he was away, and Anakin was subtly glad she didn't want to spar just yet. Obi-Wan was in the kitchen of their flat, listening fondly to his closest friends, his brother and sister, talk like no tomorrow.

"Anakin, Ahsoka!" Obi-Wan yelled through to them, "do you want anything to eat?" He asked, much quieter than before, he simply needed to get their attention.
The pair came bounding into the kitchen, well, Ahsoka bounded, Anakin ambled.

"Please Obi-Wan, I don't know about snips here but Padmé would kill me if I didn't get something. She threatened to force feed me in front of the council. And you know Mé, she doesn't do anything by halves."

Ahsoka doubled over laughing, taking at least a minute to compose herself before answering, "something meaty for me please." She was carnivorous after all.

Obi-Wan got some of Anakin's favourite biscuits down whilst he fried some rancor rashers for him and Ahsoka.

"Is it really that obvious?" Anakin asked his former master, starting to feel a little self conscious.

"Only because I know you, did you take anything for it at Padmé's?"

"I did, thank you, and before you ask, I'm not binding, don't worry."

Obi-Wan was going to protest that he wasn't worrying, but he knew that, with the same familiarity he could tell it was Anakin's time, Anakin could tell he would worry about him.

Ahsoka was slightly confused, normally her master scarfed rancor down just like her, why today was any different she didn't know. Her master also had his shields a bit tighter than usual, so she knew something was wrong. Curiosity getting the better of her, she asked whilst they were eating their breakfast.
"Master, what's wrong? You're acting different and it's weird."

He wasn't surprised she'd noticed, Ashoka was clever, and he wanted to educate her to the best of his ability.
"You remember how I'm trans right?"

She nodded, thinking back to their very first mission.

"I still have a female body biologically, which means I still go through the menstrual cycle." He noticed the bewildered look on her face and sighed.
"Did you pay attention to any of your biology classes my young padawan?"

Her lekku blushed furiously as she mumbled something about skipping to visit the 501st. Anakin grumbled, but he couldn't stay mad at her, especially since he had done a very similar thing at her age.

"It's alright snips, but really, you should go to your classes, talking from experience, the ones you skip usually are the ones you get tested on.

The force is cruel that way. Anyway, it's how humans reproduce, the female," he said with air quotes and disgust, "body will prepare an egg cell, if it's fertilised, by a sperm cell - don't laugh Ahsoka - it will mature into an embryo, creating a pregnancy.

If that doesn't happen, then the body will shed the lining of the uterus, the organ for carrying babies, and the egg will leave the body, basically as blood. It causes a lot of pain and discomfort for anyone, me especially because it reminds me I'm not a man."

Obi-Wan, who was listening intently, Anakin never usually discussed this sort of thing, but in immediately at the statement.
"Anakin, you are a man, a very strong one, you don't have to..." He trailed off finding the words.

"Have a willy?" Anakin shot back, laughing heartily, "that's what Padmé said, literally yesterday."

Ahsoka was stunned, both by the concept explained to her, and her master saying the word willy. Not at all what she was expecting. Togruta had mating cycles that were closely linked to their home planet, so the young padawan didn't have to consider reproduction. It was an oversight on her part, clearly, as it can help to understand others, but she was just bored.

She quickly apologised to Anakin for not attending her classes, but he rejected it, as she wasn't in any trouble. Under another master she may have been, but Anakin wasn't known for being orthodox. She decided then that she would read further into the biology of other species, as it would help her become not only a better Jedi, but a better person as well.

Anakin also eventually explained that his force sensitivity is heightened and he will be quite nauseous, so he eats mostly bland foods during his period, a term that came from it repeating monthly on average. She thought it was rather wasteful of the body to expend so much energy, but she couldn't change the fact, regardless of her opinion.

That evening, Anakin and Obi-Wan were at Padmé's apartment in the senate building. They had all had a few glasses of wine, and were getting drowsy. They were talking nonsense, Anakin the most.

"The F on my slavers certificate stands for fear." He announced confidently.

Obi-Wan responded, "what are you afraid of?"

The drunken knight quickly shot back, "nothing. They are afraid of me."

"Oh, king." Was Obi-Wan's reply.

"Ana-king, hey, hey?" Padmé put her two credits in, the pun so bad that Obi-Wan was tempted to leave right there, and Anakin was laughing like a maniac.

They continued to drink, Obi-Wan at one point doing an impression of Yoda chatting up a lady, terribly, I might add. After maybe their fifth or sixth drink, the three retired to bed, Obi-Wan taking the couch, and Anakin and Padmé sleeping together.

Slurring his words slightly, "I love you Padmé, you're my world." Anakin then finally drifted off to sleep, content with his life in that moment.

This entire chapter was written bc I said to my flatmate "the F on my birth certificate stands for fear" and that was the conversation we had lol. Also there's not anything about togrutan biology in the lore so I just made something up to fit the story. Hope you enjoyed reading this chapter, k thx bye! Love Sam
