"tell me the truth, jeongguk... who are you?"

speechlessly, jeongguk stared at the younger with a lost expression, before quickly turning his gaze down, not being able to look at taehyung right now. "i'm... jeon jeongguk. who else should i be?"

he felt dumb for saying that.

taehyung scoffed quietly. "fine jeon jeongguk..." jeongguk bit his lip, hearing, but also sensing taehyung's madness in the still weakened voice.

he looked back when taehyung took his hand, pulling it on his lap. the omega had something silver glistening in his hand and jeongguk's eyes widened, when he tied it around the alpha's wrist.

taehyung smiled softly, looking down at the j and k pendants of the bracelet that he had kept since the day he found it.

jeongguk's heart picked a quicker pace he looked down at it, he had seen taehyung wearing it before. well, the omega did wear it all the time, so it wasn't surprising. you can imagine how shocked the alpha had been when he saw it for the first time around the omega's wrist.

"that's yours, right?" jeongguk looked to taehyung who pointed to the silver accessory, but shook his head.

taehyung smiled softly. "when were you gonna tell me that we met before?"

jeongguk didn't want to say anything, but what would that do anyways? taehyung found out that he was the alpha on the motorcycle on the day before his birthday. "i... wasn't myself at that day, i didn't want you to think that i'm a bad person." he whispered, finally looking up to taehyung again, ashamed.

"so... " taehyung began and jeongguk felt his tummy turn lightly scared of what could be coming next

"weak omegas huh?" the omega just mocked.

jeongguk laughed, internally feeling relieved. "i'm sorry, jimin also reminded me on that—

"jimin knows?"

jeongguk took a sharp breath. "i-i'm sorry, he recognized my motorcycle, but i didn't want you to know so i begged him to not tell you." there is so much more that we're hiding.

taehyung nodded understanding.

"so mr jeon jeongguk didn't want me to know that i met him before and also that he helped me with getting a kite out of a tree."

jeongguk smiled sheepishly. "i'm sorry?"

taehyung laughed.

"since when do you know?" jeongguk then questioned, playing around with the bracelet.

a smile formed on the omega's lips. "your eyes... when they shone red in the cafeteria. i've never seen a red like yours before, except on that day and then i thought about your motorcycle and the helmet, it was all the same."

the reason is unknown, but jeongguk's heart did a jump. he remembered having held a long eye contact with taehyung at the day of the accident— did taehyung remember his eyes? "i'm sorry for not telling you."

taehyung smiled lightly, eyes fixed on jeongguk's. "it's okay, i knew you seemed familiar."

"you didn't put the ointment on my wounds." jeongguk pointed out, looking to the tube laying on the nursery bed next to him.
