28. hot chocolate

taehyung wanted to cry.

presently, he was standing in front of the mirror in the bathroom, originally wanting to take a shower, but now, he just stood there complete frozen and unable to move.

there were small tears brimming in his eyes, but he wasn't sad, nor was he scared. the tears have formed unconsciously, without him knowing— because of an emotion that he had never felt before.

he feels like this for the first time, this overwhelming feeling of sudden happiness and euphoria, though he doesn't understand where it comes from. it was somewhere deep, deep inside of him and now it creeped to the surface and broke out in the form of tears.

taehyung reached his hand up to his neck, a small sob leaving his lips, as he leaned more towards the mirror to take a better look at what jeongguk had done. jeongguk.

thinking about him now felt like driving a rollercoaster in full speed, with too many turns and ridiculous fast loopings.

taehyung knew that jeongguk had left hickeys on his neck, it wouldn't have made sense otherwise, because he kept sucking on his skin pretty hard and long.

but.

he didn't expect jeongguk to mean it when he said he'll mark him. not as mate-marking, but marking him as his.

and taehyung didn't know why he felt so pretty and happy with jeongguk's initials "JK" spelled out on his skin in a pretty red, that he knows will turn purple real soon.

taehyung took a deep, shallow breath.

thinking about the fact that jeongguk wants to mate him was sending an unreadable feeling through him. but... he doesn't want this, right?

yes, he has feelings for jeongguk, but he's in love with his alpha and up till now, he would only like to mate with his alpha. if he even exists?

taehyung shook his head.

he decides to let the time pick what's right for him. he really does like jeongguk a lot, like a lot-lot. it's impossible not to, considering how good-looking and caring he is and how sweet and lovely he always acted with taehyung.

he had always been there when taehyung needed someone to be.

taehyung pouts.

"still doesn't give him the right to claim me like this," he scoffed, then decided to finally take a quick shower, remembering that jeongguk was still there, now probably chatting with taehyung's older brother in the kitchen, which scares the omega a little.

"so, you are the one who took my lil bro's first kiss?"

jeongguk smiled sheepishly. "i... didn't know it was his first, i would do anything to make it better.

jin bit his lip. "taehyung... he probably has a fated mate out there." he just so suddenly said.

jeongguk hummed, the smile that he tried to hide almost coming out. "yes, he told me about the dreams and his alpha."

"yeah... he is deeply in love with him though and i.. i never thought he'd kiss someone else but him."

he didn't, jeongguk thought. "do you think... that when he finds him, he'd leave... me? i mean we aren't together yet, but—

"maybe," seokjin interrupted. "taehyung's actions have always been controlled by his emotions. he always decided by heart, barely by mind. he's in love with his alpha, but he'd never kiss you and get so close to you if he doesn't feel anything for you."

jeongguk looked down. "he told me that he has feelings for me."

"then i'd stay with maybe," seokjin spoke. "taehyung feels something for the both of you, but i don't know, your relationship can always evolve to something outrageous."

"like... love?" jeongguk asked and seokjin smiled, wanting to coo at how adorable the young alpha sounded while talking about taehyung.

"yes, love. though that's for taehyung's heart to decide..."

jeongguk smiled lightly again. "i will make him fall in love with me..."

seokjin laughed. "yes and i'll watch you with popcorn in my hands. you slick little bitch— do you think that i don't know you are his alpha?"

jeongguk stared at him, not being able to blink. seokjin chuckled with a smirk.

"what do you mean?"

"jeongguk... it's obvious. you cared for taehyung since day one, as if you knew each other like forever. he was instantly comfortable around you and that's so unusual for him. he trusted you from day one and he even wasn't scared of sleeping next to you, when he was scared of just looking at namjoon when he was younger, because he is an alpha. you act around him just like his alpha does in his dreams, hell, you call him even pup. and besides that, i'm a genius."

seokjin surprisingly trusted jeongguk. trusted his actions and his intentions with taehyung. "jeongguk... it's you, right?"

the alpha looked down, biting his lip and nodded. "taehyung's the only one who doesn't get it..." he whispered. thinking about the fact that taehyung doesn't recognize him, even though his best friend and brother do is... it kind of makes him feel sad.

"do you know why?" seokjin asked with a soft smile, placing his hand on the young wolves shoulder. jeongguk shook his head.

"he trusts his alpha to tell him, when he finds him. i mean you— when you find him. i told you, taehyung's actions are leaded by heart and he trusts you jeongguk, he trusts your words. in the beginning... when his dreams started to come true with you, he was contemplating wether it could be you, but... he thought that if it was you, you'd tell him."

jeongguk felt guilty.

"it's just... if i tell him the truth, he'd say he loves me because i'm the alpha in his dreams, not because of me."

"that's ridiculous, you are the same person, the alpha in the dreams is you. you also fell for taehyung because he was your omega in your dreams... it'd be unfair to him. he loves you. wether in the dream or here, right now, once he knows the truth he will love you fully."

jeongguk took a deep breath. "you say that.. i should tell him the truth right?" seokjin nodded.

"it's not only for him, i know you will be more than happy too, when you and taehyung can finally be united. you are fated mates, you belong to each other."

and then, jin hugged the alpha. jeongguk was surprised, he had met seokjin just today, but his hug was more than comforting. and he also trusted him.

"hyung, i took joonie hyung's hoodie, because it's so big and oversized!" they heard the omega squeal upstairs. seokjin and jeongguk cut off from the hug. "okay, baby, come downstairs when you're finished, i'll make you hot chocolate!" seokjin shouted back.

"yes!"

seokjin turned back to jeongguk. "you want hot chocolate?"
