16. avoiding me

taehyung's classes terminated earlier today and he wasn't in the mood of anything anymore— jimin is going out with his boyfriends, namjoon has a meeting with all teachers and seokjin has something going in his café— that means taehyung is going to be alone once he reaches home.

the idea sounds just perfect.

he wishes for nothing more, but forget the real world, the worries, the stress, jeongguk and his resemblance to his alpha. all he wants is to sleep— meet his actual alpha in his dreams.

he sighed, putting his last book into his locker, closing it, then locking it, causing the familiar sound of metal to metal to echo through the almost empty school hall.

"hey pup." taehyung flinched just lightly by hearing jeongguk's voice coming from behind him, but his heart still picked up a faster speed and he cursed internally at it for reacting this way. all he wants is to go and sleep, the last thing he wanted was to meet the person he tried to avoid.

there's no way back though.

"hey, jeongguk." taehyung said quietly, not looking up to the taller male, as he turned around.

jeongguk tilted his head a little, studying taehyung's face— he had missed looking at him, had missed seeing him. of course he noticed the distance the omega was trying to put between them, taehyung wasn't subtle with the way he ran away whenever jeongguk was just in sight.

even if taehyung looked calm from the outside, his inside was freaking out into a chaos, as his mind was running wild, heart beating quick and nervousness seeping through all of his veins.

"taehyung... look at me." the omega bit his lip, looking up. "what is?" it was so hard to keep his voice calm.

jeongguk leaned a little more down, being in eye height to the omega. "i don't like it when you act like this." taehyung's breath hitched by the deepness of jeongguk's voice, reminding him on the day of their first meeting in the park, where jeongguk's face was still unknown to him and his voice the only thing taehyung knew about him.

"like what?" taehyung questioned, even if he was sure he knows the answer.

jeongguk looked at him for a moment, then sighed. he brushed his hand through his own raven curls and looked away. "nevermind, there's nothing."

taehyung looked down. "i think, i'll go home now..." he mumbled.

jeongguk chuckled and moved to the side, leaning against a locker next to taehyung's, crossing his arms, one foot propped . "i can accompany you." he suggested, but taehyung quickly shook his head, not daring to look up as he guessed how hot jeongguk was looking in this position—

"n-no, it's okay. i'll go alone. see you tomorrow." taehyung swung his backpack around his shoulder and wanted to go, when jeongguk stopped him, grabbing his wrist.

he got no time to react, as jeongguk was already dragging him with him through the school halls. scared to say something wrong or upset jeongguk even more, taehyung kept his gaze down and lips locked.

he was confused though, when they entered the sanitary room and when jeongguk locked the door behind them, causing a shoot of nervousness to crawl through his body. "what are you doing?" the omega asked, stepping forward to get to the door, but jeongguk stopped him, grabbing his arms and pushing him against the wall.

a surprised gasp left the omega, as he looked up into jeongguk's inky eyes. "pup...", the alpha whispered, causing taehyung's chest to heave up and down erratically.

"let me go, gguk" taehyung tried to move away, only for jeongguk's hold to tighten on his arms.

"why are you avoiding me?" taehyung felt jeongguk's hands slide from his shoulders down his arms, the touch causing warmth to spread through his whole body.
