5 years later.

"you are such an asshole, i hate you, hoseok," jimin whined, hitting his mate on the shoulder. "calm down, lil' shit!" the latter hissed back.

"are they always like this?" jin asked yoongi next to him, who scoffed. "we're all three like this."

"jimin, fucking calm down, it isn't like the world goes under just because he placed a damn 4+ card on you!" namjoon groaned annoyed. all he wanted to do was play a game with the family.

jimin looked up surprised, raising an eyebrow. "i preferred when you still were my teacher and didn't dare to curse at me," he said, pouting. the others chuckled.

that's when they heard the sound of keys dangling and everyone looked to the entrance door, where an exhausted taehyung entered the house after work, dropping his bag on the ground and hanging his jacket on the hook at the wall.

"you're back," seokjin smiled.

taehyung smiled too. "you're playing uno without me? i feel offended," he chuckled, walking towards them.

"you can still join! i advice you to not take a seat next to hoseok, he places 4+ cards with no mercy." jimin squinted his eyes at the mentioned male, who looked at him with a bewildered look. "that's how this fucking game works!"

taehyung laughed lightly, then looked to yoongi, who just smirked at his two mates. "you're enjoying this a lot."

"they're adorable," he just said, taking a sip of his cup of tea.

taehyung then looked around, noticing someone was missing.

"where's jeongguk?" he questioned.

"sleeping." namjoon shrugged.

taehyung nodded. "i'll check up on him, be right back." he was confused, it was barely eight pm and jeongguk never sleeps early.

he smiled as he went over to the bedroom, and saw the ravenette sleeping soundly in between the comfort of white.

"had a rough day, hmm?" he chuckled, as he sat down on the edge of the bed, brushing his hand through jeongguk's dark hair.

he smiled softly. this boy was his world and the only reason taehyung kept on holding onto life.

literally.

who thought, that taehyung had been pregnant?

taehyung laid down next to the four years old boy.

5 years ago, when the accident happened and taehyung's mate died, his whole world shattered into millions of pieces. he never had the chance to show jeongguk how much he loves him, the chance to give him all the love he deserved.

"i love you, d-don't leave me" taehyung remembers shouting these words over and over again in that moment as if it just happened yesterday. he was barely breathing himself, as he cried, trying to save his mate in any way. taehyung had jeongguk's lifeless body in his arms, holding him tight against his chest, the alpha's blood dyeing his whole clothes into a dark red.

he will never forget jeongguk's cold palm on his cheek, his soft, weak smile and his last words; "i'll see you in our dreams, my love"— before his eyes closed. forever.
