Kim Ma-Ra's Pov.

It was time. The cars were ready, our people armed, the lookouts were posted in the right positions and our enemy was on their way.

"Scared?" Jun-Myeon teased lightly, his eyes trained on the road as he manoeuvred down the dimly lit streets, his hands gripping the wheel so tightly, his knuckles turned white.

"Anxious at most. There's no guarantee how this will end," I tried to sound as impassive as possible, confidence was basically halfway to winning this all.

He spared me a quick glance, "You know I have your back, right?"

My stressing was overshadowed by the burst of amusement spreading through my chest as a soft laugh escaped my throat, "Thank you, Suho. And I have yours."

"Does that not reassure you at all?" Suho pushed, his focus drifting off the road far too often for my comfort.

I sighed, tapping my nails against my knee, "It's not that it doesn't reassure me, I just have a bad feeling about this..."

Kim Yeo-Reom's Pov.

The silence in the car was stifling, tension was etched into everyone's face and I figured if my spine became any straighter, it would snap.

Min-Seok drove with Ri-Ya in the passenger's seat, staring outside the window, her frown clear across the tinted glass.

Chan-Yeol sat in the back with me, his hand holding onto mine, tracing my knuckles with his thumb, squeezing reassuringly every few minutes.

"Should we turn on the radio?" Offered Min-Seok, hesitantly reaching for the button,

"Don't," Ri-Ya snapped tensing further, her head snapping to his hand that was reaching for the dial.

Min-Seok jolted his hand away as if the dial had burned him, staring at the road with a new found dedication, not trying to ease the tension away anymore. I almost felt bad for him.

Ri-Ya turned back to looking outside, acting as though the world had mortally offended her.

"Are you okay?" Chan-Yeol murmured, pressing his nose into my hair, his arm coming around my shoulders pulling me into him so I could rest on his shoulder.

"Why wouldn't I be?" I quipped shortly even though I knew, he and everyone else had heard what went down between Ri-Ya and I back at the manor.

He didn't reply, simply opting to kiss my forehead instead, soothingly rubbing my arms, his expression almost pitying.

Ri-Ya shifted in her seat, glancing back at us through the rear view mirror, her face tightening and her fists clenching, "How much longer, Seok?"

Min-Seok peeked at her, concern finding its way onto his face, "Why? Are you not feeling well? You still suffer with motion sickness—"

Ri-Ya shook her head, cutting him off as she covered his hand with hers as it rested on the gearshift, "It's not that. There's just no air in this car."

I scoffed before I could reconsider the action, rolling my eyes.

Ri-Ya glared through the mirror, "Is there something else you want to say? More you want to add?"

Chan-Yeol's grip on my shoulder tightened protectively and he brought me even closer so I was half hidden away by him, "We shouldn't fight amongst each other."

"He's right, leave it, Ri. Our enemy is outside, not in this car." Min-Seok quickly added, moving her hand away and instead, moving his hand to rest on her thigh, squeezing it.

Another heavy silence settled over the car as Ri-Ya went back to glaring at everything in sight.

"Reom-Ah, there's something I have to tell you," whispered Chan-Yeol as the car began to shake slightly as we entered the gravel path leaning up to the entrance of the scrapyard. We had arrived.

"What is it?" I mumbled, leaning away from him to glance out of the window.

Suho's car was parked ahead and in front of them were three black vans; they weren't ours.

Chan-Yeol seemed to debate his words, his hand clutching mine in an iron grip before he turned my head to face him, "I need you to trust me no matter what,"

"What do yo—" I frowned but Chan-Yeol shook his head.

"Just promise me you'll trust me no matter what happens or whatever I do," he pushed firmly, his face deadly serious.

A sense of dread began to build up in my gut, "What are you planning, Chan-Yeol?"

His hands came up to cup my face, his fingers brushing across my cheek, "Promise me."

The desperation was clearly there but my own nagging doubt and sudden gut feeling that something was going to go wrong made me pause in answering him. That and the fact that Ri-Ya was watching us through the mirror, a knowing look in her eyes; she knew something I didn't.

Before I could turn my questioning to her, she exited the car, Min-Seok following right after, both of them moving to join the leaders already standing outside.

I moved to exit as well, trying to see if I could get some answers from someone else before the fight started but Chan-Yeol pulled me back again, "I would never do anything to hurt you or break your trust but I need to know that you trust me too."

"Then tell me what you're planning," I shot back immediately.

Chan-Yeol shook his head once, "Not yet. Soon but not yet. Just promise me."

I began to chew on the inside of my cheek as Día knocked on the boot of the car telling us to come out, "Okay, I promise I trust you, I'm just not sure I trust your plans yet."

He leaned forward quickly stealing a bittersweet kiss from my lips before pulling away, "That will have to be enough. I love you, stay close to me, okay?"

I nodded, before opening the door and stepping out into the cool night, my eyes scanning our surroundings.

Ma-Ra was already watching me carefully, her eyes flitting between her twin and I and then to Min-Seok, who I presumed had been the one to inform Ma-Ra of my outburst earlier because Ri-Ya had been too ego-wounded to do it. She sighed as I walked closer and it took everything in me not to swear and walk out of that stupid scrapyard, get in the first taxi I found and get on the first plane to China.

But I couldn't leave; for Chanyeol. For Día and Kyung-Soo too, A-Reum was waiting for them. Plus, I owed Jong-Dae a favour too. Even Baek-Hyun had started to grow on me; I needed to prove to these people, I had their backs.

The Black Aces exited their own vans, their members coming face to face with ours; most were young and scrawny, weighed down by the bulk of their weapons, but they were obviously smart. Otherwise, how would they have gotten this far. The answer to that question came out sooner than I wanted it to.

Kim Re-Won exited the vehicle last, clad in a suit and a sinister smirk that sent me back to my childhood and every beating I'd ever received. The man in question sauntered forwards as if he was on his way to a luxurious dinner and not on a mission to kill his own blood; his expensive shoes scraping the gravel loudly, his smile too wide and full of teeth to fool anyone.

"It's been a while...my daughters."
