Chapter 22

at school the next day, sarah planned to ask the coach if she could get her co-manager position back.

yukie said that coach would of course let her back, so sarah was excited to be apart of the team again.

she entered the gym that day after school, humming cheerfully.

the boys were in there fooling around and warming up, the coach no where to be seen.

"probably in his office," she muttered to herself.

she headed to the office, and could hear the coach's voice talking to someone.

"we would love to have you as manager. we needed a second manager and were going to try to get out old one back but since you're here we dont need to."

what?

her heart felt like it shattered.

someone volunteered to be manager?

the coach strolled out of the room, then taking notice of sarah there.

the person he was probably talking to was no where to be seen.

"hi sarah, nice to see you. do you need anything?"

"oh- uh..." she gulped. "well you see... i was coming to ask if i can have the manager position back?"

he smiled.

"really?"

"well, yeah. but sorry but i accidentally overheard you talking to someone as i walked in..."

"oh yes, a new student just volunteered to become the new manager." he gestured to the office door. in came a girl around 5'0 with long silky black hair with dough eyes and a natural pout to her lips.

"hi im myou! and you are..." the girl in front of her asked, almost in a judgy tone.

sarah wasnt one to judge someone just as she met them but there was something about this girl that made her feel uneasy.

"im sarah," she fake smiled.

"nice," myou fake smiles back.

"okay..." the coach made a guilty face. "im sorry sarah but i think we already have someone in the manager position now, you just came to late."

sarah roughly swallowed.

"thats o-okay," she attempted to eye smile but the coach could tell she was faking it and felt even more guilty. but he couldn't just tell myou that he wanted sarah instead.

sarah was about to walk out when myou said something that made her stop.

"sir, sarah can have the manager position. she seems like she would know the team better and im just that new girl that nobody knows." myou says. it seemed like she was trying to make herself look nice and sarah feel guilty for not getting the position. but her plan backfired.

"thats wonderful!" the coach exclaimed, a little to happy.

myou's expression fell, clearly not getting the reaction she wanted. but she looked over at sarah. sarah could still decline it out of guilt. but sarah knew what myou was up to.

"really myou? thats great! thank you!" sarah beams.

myou started to feel regretful but she couldnt take it back now.

not if she wanted to have a clean image at her new school.

"yeah... have fun!" she fake smiled and walked out of the office.

the coach and sarah made eye contact.

"could you see what she was trying to do there?" the coach asked her. "or am i just crazy?"

"oh your'e not crazy, dont worry."

the coach laughs and the two head into the gym to start the practice.

little did sarah know, that wasnt the last she'd see of myou.
