Chapter 5

Finally after 10 whole minutes, Akaashi and Bokuto come out of the change room.
"Sorry to keep you waiting," Akaashi apologizes. I shake my head.

"oh no, no, no! Don't worry about it, I dont care."
He smiles. Then Bokuto runs up to us and pulls me into a hug.

"Sarah! Are you walking with us?" Bokuto asks like an excited child. I laugh and nod.
"Perfect!" he says. "Konoha and Komi are coming out in a second and then we can start walking!"
"Alright," i agree.

If i remember correctly, Komi is the libero and is just taller than me with brown hair, and Konoha is an outside hitter and is around 5' 10 with dirty, blonde hair.

I got to chat with everyone on the team for a little bit, during practice to get to know everyone, and Komi and Konoha were really nice.

When they came out, we started walking.

While we were on the sidewalk, I was sandwiched between Konoha and Akaashi, and Bokuto and Komi were in front of us.

Bokuto and Komi were having a heated discussion on how to spell concern, when Konoha looked over at me.

"Hey Sarah?" Konoha asks, trying to start up a conversation.
"Yes Konoha?"
"Where did you move from?"
I smile. "I moved from Yokohama!" i tell him. "But originally i was born in New Zealand."
"That's so cool, i've always wanted to go there!" he replies.

We start talking about New Zealand and how pretty it is and everything. Akaashi occasionally butted in to ask questions, but its just mainly me and Konoha talking.

Then he asked a question that unexpectedly hit me hard.

"Hey Sarah, why did you move to Tokyo? Was there a specific reason?" I go silent and stop walking, and stare at the ground. I see Akaashi turn to look at me and stop from the corner of my eye.

Konoha notices me stop and sees my sudden mood change and he starts getting nervous.
"Ahh i'm so sorry! Just don't answer and forget i asked, i'm sorry!" he quickly apologizes.
Bokuto and Komi stopped walking and come over toward us.

A single tear runs down my face.
"Sarah, whats wrong?" Bokuto asks. Akaashi tilts my head up and brushes away my quick falling tears. I don't reply, so Komi leads us over towards a bench and Akaashi sits me down.

They boys sit in front of me and wait for me to stop crying. Bokuto hugs me to try and help and Akaashi looks a bit annoyed and makes a face at him. That cheers me up a bit and i start to feel a bit better.

"Sorry about that," I say, pulling out of Bokuto's hug and wiping my face off with my sleeve.
"Don't apologize, its my fault for asking," Konoha tells me. I shake my head.
"no, its okay. you didn't know," i assure him and give him a sad smile. He looks at me unsure for a quick second, and then nods.

Then all of the sudden, his face lights up.

"Hey!" Konoha chirps. "There's a new café that just opened up around the next block. I want to make it up to you for upsetting you so lets go there!"

"Okay that sounds great!" I tell him enthusiastically. "Just let me text my mom telling her ill be a bit late to get home." Bokuto and Akaashi say they can come along, but Komi told us he had to get back soon.

We say goodbye to Komi and then head towards the direction of the café.

When we step in, the place is beautifully decorated with pink and yellow painted walls and cute fairy lights and mirrors hanging ok them.

"Woah," I mutter as we step in. " this place is so cute!"

We each order our stuff and sit in a booth by the front window and talk about school and volleyball. Then we notice the time and start heading home.

We reach a two way turn.

"Me and Komi live down the street to the right, Konoha says. "We'll see you at school tomorrow, bye!"

We say our goodbyes and then me, Akaashi, and Bokuto start heading down the street to the left. We reach a gate with the name 'Bokuto, on the front and Bokuto hugs me.

"Goodbye Sarah-chan! Im so happy youve became one of our managers!" Bokuto tells me.

"Me too," I tell him, while giggling. "I'll see you tomorrow, okay?"

He nods at me, smiling wide, and turns to Akaashi. They do a weird hand shake and then Bokuto says bye and turns to walk into his house.

Me and Akaashi start walking again in silence.

"So," he says "how was your first day?"
I think for a second. "It was okay, I guess. I made a friend at least," I tell him.

"Thats good," he responds. We fall into silence again and then we reach my house.

"Bye Akaashi! Thank you for inviting me to walk with my guys!" I tell him and give him a hug.

He hesitates for a quick second and then wraps his arms around me and hugs me back.

"It was my pleasure. You can walk with us whenever you'd like, since you would be leaving the same time as us,"

"Thank you! I'll see you tomorrow!" I say, breaking away from the hug and turning away fast so he can't see my blush.

"See you tomorrow," I hear him say.

As soon as i get inside, I quickly shut the door and fall against the wall.
What has gotten into me.

Do I... like Akaashi?
