I woke up before Maura so I took a shower kissed her forehead and headed off to my studio. This painting is going quickly. I mixed up the paint to finish up the two dresses. I am working hard on our arms and the dresses.
I am thinking I may finish this in a day or two. I head out to Hope's to take her out to the gun so she can get a feel for it and possibly rent various guns and calibers for her to try dry fire before I actually teach her other safety measures and for her to shoot an actual gun. I don't want to scare her off. She tries out several guns in sliding to rack as well as revolver. She decides a revolver will be easier for her. I go over the pros and cons for both types of handguns. She likes the weight of taurus 38 6 round capacity. I think she was more attracted to the color.I take her to a gun store to price them and have her try more. She is not worried about the price. This one is a low price too. I forget at times Maura's family don't worry about money. She takes her test and passes it. There is no waiting period or background check which is scary. She pays for her gun, buys two lock safes. One for her nightstand and one for her vehicle . She buys the same lock safes as Maura's. She liked hers when she saw hers. She purchases several boxes of 38 ammo, extra cartridge holder...not sure whar they are called. They pop out and you have them loaded already to pop into your gun. She buys several of those, dry fire ammo, gun cleaning supplies, safety glasses, earmuffs, and a gun bag. We go back to her home and I have her practice dry fire. I instruct her not to use nor load the weapon for now until we can make it out to the range so she can familiarize herself with it and shoot it. I set up our next training date in two days early before I have to be at work. I only took her to the gun store to take the test. I wasn't expecting her to purchase a gun right there. I wanted her to actually shoot several 38's , but I learned a long time ago. ONCE a Martin is set you won't change her mind. I make it to work on time for our weekly meeting.
I later go downstairs and tell her what Hope chose etcetera. "Jane I want to go with you nexr time." "Maura I need your mom comfortable with her gun before you or your sisters go with us. Please don't ask her to go. I am looking out for your mom."
We go to a nearby diner to get brunch, since I didn't eat much before I met Hope. We talk about how Tommy is recuperating and keeping himself out of trouble for now per the warden. We plan to see him on Friday. Hope shows up to Maura's job to see how she is doing and to tell her about her progress with a gun. Maura reassures her once she gets practice in, she will be ready if an intruder breaks in or she has problems while working." Mom you won't be able to carry a gun until you can pass a concealed carry class and get certified. It takes time. For now, you are to use your gun inside your home . Once you get permit to carry comes more responsibility and I recommend you get insurance. Go on line to learn more and ask Jane questions too. Sorry,I gotta to go. I have a meeting to be at."Maura beats me home today and makes us a healthy Salmon dinner with rice pilaf and side salad. She drinks her wine and I have water and mango juice.
We clean up. Maura goes to her office to answer her emails and I head off to work on the painting. I am now working on our faces. I complete Maura's face and hair. Tomorrow, I will finish up my hair and face. My Maura looks caliente in this painting. I am so lucky she chose me.
