Maura and I woke up had breakfast and headed to her place so she could take a shower so we could head out to go skiing.  Frankie and a few of his buddies met us there. I had a cabin already reserved for us. It had three bedrooms. Jane and I would of had our rooms but Frankie and a couple came to join us. Jane called out to Frankie.  "Frankie, I need your help moving my stuff to Maura's so you can have a bed to sleep in." "Jane thank you for allowing me and buddy and his wife to come along on your three day get away. I was lucky to get four days off and I wanted to get away. When I told George and Liz that, they wanted to join me." "No problem, you are my brother and I love spending time away from work with you like when we were kids going on nature walks. This time will be an added bonus. A solid roof over our heads that is heated.  Indoor plumbing and fire place and snow. I am looking forward to a snow ball fight. Let's get this done before your buddies arrive."
Maura returned with groceries for all of us. George and Liz drove up at the same time as Maura.  "Maura let us guys bring in the luggage real quick. George and I will bring in the groceries. Rest up. I appreciate you allowing me and my friends joining in on your mini vacation and your willingness to have Jane be in your room so I can have a comfortable bed to sleep on." " Your welcome Frankie,  I consider you and your sister mu family. " Frankie introduced us after we brought the groceries in. His friends were just as grateful.
Frankie, "dang, Maura this huge is big and you and Jane would of been in this place yourself." "Frankie I didn't rent this cabin.  This is my families cabin. We come here several times out of the year. Constance and my dad were not able to make it, so Jane and I had already taken the time off. I wanted to show Jane one of my family vacation places that I had good memories as a kid." "Maura I will be looking forward to see some of your other places down the road."

My parents love the outdoors.  My dad is a big fan of various woods. The kitchen has been one of my favorite rooms. My Nani would come with us and she had me join in on her cooking time.  She taught me how to have fun while releasing stress.  I learned many of the recipes here that I still use today that were healthy."
Liz stated, "Maura as an interior design, I  can appreciate the history and fine pieces your family have here. "
"Later on, I would like us to go on a walk before it gets dark. You all will love it."
We made some hot chocolate while we got ready for our walk.  Frankie took these pictures.

We had a more modern snowman contest. Maura, Liz and George were the judges.  I made the snowman with the beer that won. They liked Frankie's but as Liz stated, "Frankie that is disturbing."
We headed back inside and the guys got the fireplace going. The girls and I were making dinner. "Maura I thought you said all the fireplaces had gas as an option to start the fires?" "Jane yes, but I didn't have the heart to break their male egos." Liz and I laugh. We finished with dinner and set the table. We made fresh baked potatoes, kale mango salad, pot roast, with some red wine and light ale beer. The guys did the clean up. The fire went out. While the guys were entering the main room, they saw Maura turn on the fireplace.  We all laughed and the guys just shook their heads and turned red.
Maura was showing us several of the family photos of this place.
I saw one picture that caught my eye. It was a picture of her Nani.  This gave me an idea. As soon as Maura went to get us some hot tea, I took my cell out and took a snap shot of the picture.  Frankie smiled he knew what I  was going to do. "Jane she will love it."
