chapter 7- in shock

"hello you must be dr.shepherd," meredith said without looking up from her paperwork

"yes, that's me," he replied, her hair looked familiar to him but he couldn't pinpoint why

meredith looked up at the man and was startled. he was the one she had a one night stand with, she slept with a freaking neurosurgeon. she immediately felt regret as she opened her mouth to say something.

"am i delusional?" she asked the man who took a seat in front of her while she was contemplating all of her decisions

"nope, i am very much in the UK, standing in your office." derek noticed her amazing features and remembered why he picked her up at the bar

"well this is awkward, you are probably questioning a lot of things right now," she said with a chuckle

"you're not wrong," her laugh was infectious, it was young and free, nothing like he has witnessed before

"well keep them all to yourself i wanna be mysterious, follow me, let's go meet the patient," meredith got up and led him towards the elevator, he was wearing a navy suit which complimented his luscious hair in so many ways

as meredith got up derek was taken away by her body. she was wearing a cream colored blouse with a pencil skirt that hugged all of her curves, he was almost drooling for her.

"you have an accent," he broke the awkward silence as they stood in the elevator

"yes i do, what about it?" she questioned

"it's hot and mysterious, you didn't have one back in Seattle"

"are you hitting on me? again?"

"no i am complimenting you as we ride this elevator," he replied innocently

meredith rolled her eyes, he was arrogant but she loved that. his piercing blue eyes were tempting her every second the elevator travelled. as they gave each other eye contact meredith leaped into his arms and made out with the older neurosurgeon. the elevator dings were ever so silent, she was caught up in his lips. they felt like butter against hers, she didn't want to ever stop. as the last ding went off they quickly fixed themselves up to go meet their patient.

"dr. louis present," meredith said sternly while trying to avoid derek's distracting stares

"zara brown, 30, admitted two days ago with headaches which progressed to loss of eyesight. she was taken for a ct immediately after and showed a stage 2 optic pathway glioma on the optic nerve."

"well we should get another ct to assess and page ophthalmics we are gonna probably need an ophthalmic surgeon." derek replied while looking at meredith for approval

"that won't be necessary, i am one," she pointed at her lab coat with all of her titles

nothing came out of derek's mouth, he was shocked that she was a surgeon in four fields. she was in fact a surgical goddess.

"close your mouth before you catch a fly dr.shepherd," meredith giggled as they exited the room

"you're a quadruple surgeon? what the hell," derek was still trying to process the information

"is my power too disturbing for you dr.shepherd?" she smirked at his reponse

"no that just makes you 500x hotter"

"keep your pants on dr.shepherd"

they had arrived at the ct room, the tension in the room was building as they waited for a scan.

"crap its infiltrated the optic nerve completely," derek said as he sighed

"its fine, there are perfect margins, i could do that in my sleep, i don't even know why i called you," she said wittingly

"you are full of crap, i can't even see any margins," he admitted as he scooted closer to the screen

"you aren't seeing what i'm seeing, just trust me, if i say i can do it, i can do it," meredith got up to go back to the patients room, she turned back to derek to see if he was following her

derek got up silently as he followed meredith, he was falling for her. she was so powerful to him, it was like she was some type of alien who was blessed with the hands of god.

"so zara, your tumor is resectable, the margins are very clean and i can easily take it right out, your surgery will be scheduled bright and early tomorrow," meredith told the patient

"thank you so much dr.grey and dr.shepherd, you guys are lifesavers, literally," she chuckled

meredith and derek walked out of the room smiling.

"wanna get dinner, you know get to know each other better?" derek was almost pleading for more details about the woman he slept with on the other side of the country

"i am not sleeping with you, i run a department and my life is hectic at the moment, i don't need some dreamy man disrupting it even more," she ranted

"you called me dreamy and i did not say anything about sleeping with me, it's a date then?"

meredith rolled her eyes and gave in, he was too hot to resist.
