After checking up on Musona and Windy, I went back to my room.

Where do my loyalties lie? I pondered the question.

I am loyal to Omega. I believe in them.

I am loyal to experiments from Delta. They are helping me regain bits and pieces of my sanity.

I am loyal to Sky. He is the only one who understands what kind of sh*t I go through every day.

I am loyal to my humanity. I hope to understand more about the past.

Yet how can I decide between these different forces? Will I falter and betray one and yet still be despised by another?

You are walking a fine line, Ty.. I told myself.

Staring at the ceiling, I kept racking my system to decide.

I must choose one.

I cannot keep this up. Sooner or later, I must decide.

And I hope to Notch that that won’t any time soon.

The sounds of feet shuffling their way towards me broke my train of thought.

“Hey 1337304..You there?” Tris peered into my cell.

I groaned and dragged a pillow onto my face.

“Go away. I’m sick of going on missions.” I grumbled, barely understandable.

“Have you forgotten what day it is today?”

“What, the day you send me on another boring mission with Iris?”

“…Well…I guess you could say that..Minus the Iris part.”

I groaned louder.

Tris sighed and began to make her way down the hall. “It seems like you don’t care about Sky, then…”

I instantly sat up. “W-wait what?” I asked, blinking.

Tris looked over at my direction, her expression bored. “Today was the rescue mission,” she reminded me.

I slapped my palm against my forehead.

“I’ll be right there!” I yelled, hopping off my makeshift bed and hurriedly ran towards the door, letting myself out.

“Remember, this is going to be just you. Iris is busy working on a different mission.”

I nodded. “Yeah…that means that if I botch things, I botch things hard, huh..?”

The temporary leader shrugged and handed me some armor and a lethal-looking bow and arrows.

I thanked her and headed on my way.

But guess what happened?

I ran into Windy and Musona. Of course.

Musona shriek and stumbled back, shielding her face.

“P-Please don’t kill me!” she wailed, her voice faltering a little.

I rolled my eyes. “Dude, chill. It’s just—“

“Get away from Musona!” Windy jumped at me and I dodged instinctively.

“GUYS CHILL THE FREAK DOWN ITS JUST ME!” I yelled, taking off my helmet and showing them my face.

Both girls calmed down instantaneously.

“Oh uh..s-sorry..” Musona apologized sheepishly.

“Y-Yeah..sorry..” Windy agreed, embarrassed.

I sighed frustrated. “Look, I’m sorry for scaring you both, but I really don’t have time to waste. I need to go rescue Sky.”

Both girls looked up at me at the same time.

“Can..we come with you..?” Windy asked, barely audible.

“No..I feel more comfortable here..You can take Windy along with you…” Musona quickly protested.

I shrugged and nodded. “Why not. The more the merrier.”

After we reached the facility and disabled the cameras, I let us in through one of the windows.

Stealth was my main priority, along with finding where Sky is.

Oh, and also keeping Windy safe. That too.

I was just going to have to wander around the base, searching. Not the best plan I ever made, but it was too risky to try to use the cameras to find him.

That would further boost my chances of getting caught.

Slinking from hall to hall, I pressed my back against the wall and tried my best to blend into the shadows, but that’s not an easy feat when you glow in the dark like some kind of demented glow stick.

Turning my head, I stole a glance at Windy. She seemed to be copying my movements, and yet..she also stood out.

I can’t really blame her; her collar and electric wristbands emitted a soft glow, and she told me that she and Musona couldn’t take those things off.

Pulling up a map in my mind’s eye, I made my way down to the experiment chamber.

So far, so good. I haven’t seen any humans yet.

Hearing a gun click, I silently cursed under my breath.

Windy yelped a little and whipped her head around, trying to find where it came from.

I instantly drew an arrow from my quiver and pulled the string back, ready to fire.

“Long time no see, Ty..” a familiar, hushed voice greeted me.

That’s when I finally saw him.

Jason.
