I could tell by the decrease of bullets going after me that the Delta was losing.Dropping off my last bomb, I was running quite low on power.
Panting, I landed again towards the back.
I know it’s wrong to stay around and do nothing as your comrades are dying, but if I didn’t stop right then and there, I would’ve blacked out from low power.
Then I would’ve been a goner. No doubt about it.
Sitting down, I was immediately swarmed by a support unit, but after what seemed like years, I convinced them that I was just tired, not injured and go tend to the others who actually were dying.
Sighing, I ignored my commander who was yelling at me through the intercom to get up and fight.
I sat there for a while, feeling more and more refreshed. At that point, the sounds of battle had faded slightly as Omega continued its campaign.
After I was recharged to a certain level, I got up and took off into the skies again.
Flying above Omega’s forces, I realized that I was out of ammo.
Cursing under my breath, I dived and landed squarely on me feet.
I know this was very morbid of me, but I really didn’t have time to waste.
Digging around the dead bodies, I grabbed as much ammo as I could and reloaded my gun.
A searing pain erupted from my shoulder, and I wailed in pain.
Focusing on the direction where the bullet came from, I was interrupted by more and more pain shooting from different parts of my body.
Tears escaped my eyes as I ducked my head, trying to hide from the stream of bullets coming at me.
One good shot took off my helmet and everything went black after a bullet tore through the outer layer of metal that surrounded my main system.
I woke up, screaming. There were shivers going up and down my spine; I was shaking from head to toe.
I kept screaming, unsure of anything anymore.
I tried to flail my arms, but they were chained up against a wall.
Crying and attempting to pull myself together, I took in deep, uneven breathes.
Where am I?!
How am I still alive?!
I was freaking shot in the head!
Struggling, I tried to pull from free from the restraints, but I lacked the strength.
“Should I even get near him? I heard that cornered animals fight back..” a familiar, sinister voice asked, as evil as ever.
“Let me go..” I growled, then burst into tears again.
Geez, what’s wrong with me?!
I seriously need to stop crying.
My reaction only made that monster laugh more. “That bullet really did get you good, huh?”
I froze.
“H-how do you know that?!”
“Oh..A little birdy told me..”
I screamed in anger and strained my body as far it could go, but it was useless.
“Take him to the tank..I’ll be taking the front row seats..”
Two burly men loosened the chains that bound me from the wall, but they were still tight around my wrists.
Kicking and screaming, I tried to regain my freedom and punch the Delta Master in the face, but I couldn’t do anything.
“Tell me…What will happen if you got wet, Sky?” he whispered in my ear, smiling.
I started screaming again, crying hysterically.
“Is it true that you go to sleep and never wake up again?”
“S-SHUT UP!” I shrieked at the top of my lungs, reaching three octaves with my voice.
They took me to a giant room with a giant tank full of water.
The sound of the water gently swaying from side to side sent me into override; I endeavored to kick on my hover system at full blast and valiantly tried to escape my fate, but it was useless.
They had disabled my hover system, but strangely, not my movement system.
“So, Sky..Any final words?” the Delta Master asked me, tauntingly.
“I….I’m sorry..Ty..Jason..I’m sorry..” I lowered my head, finally submitting.
They shoved me into the tank and I let out a gurgled cry of agony as excruciating pain wrapped around me, leaving me in shock.
I could feel my wires short circuit as I sunk deeper and deeper into the depths.
“I’m sorry..”
