Jason

“Oh god..Oh god..” I kept muttering to myself.

I had shot the Delta Master right before he was about to send Ty to his doom, but he still managed to pull the lever anyways.

I literally jumped into the tank and pulled him out within ten seconds, but still… I know that once a robot comes into contact with water, they’re done for..

“Oh god..Oh god..” I kept muttering, rubbing my temples.

I had already lost Sky…I don’t want to lose Ty aswell..

Fumbling with my tool kit, I screwed off the panel that was protecting his main wiring system, and took a look.

There were sparks flying everywhere, and I quickly redrew.

I dug around my supplies kit, put on some rubber gloves, and went to work.

Staying focused on my task for than 9 years, I had made serious progress.

If I hadn’t acting when I did, he would have no chance what so ever.

Wiping my brow, I took a deep breath and leaned back.

“Finished..” I muttered.

In that time I had replaced all of his damaged parts as well as some wires (though they were a pain to get) and reprogrammed his entire mainframe.

“He should be fully functional” I told myself, hoping, praying.

I had gotten a lot of help and support from the others while I was working, and it made all the difference.

With Demon’s knowledge and guidance, I was able correct all the distorted code. And with Iris’ support, she pushed me through the seemingly hopeless times.

“This is it..It’s time to see if all these years of hard work actually meant something..”

Taking a deep breath, I pressed his power button.

Nothing happened.

I kept waiting, staring, not letting myself jump to assumptions just yet.

Still, nothing happened.

“Come on..Come on..”

Nothing.

Sitting back with a heavy sigh of defeat, I stared at the ceiling.

Of course. I should’ve known at the beginning that it was no use.

Ty is gone. There’s nothing I could’ve done to change that.

Closing my eyes, I willed a single tear slid down my face.

A flickering green light flashed in my peripheral vision.

Confused, I looked over and gasped.

There was green binary code scrolling through his eyes, and his wires were emitting a soft green glow.

He blinked a couple of times, his right eye adjusting to their normal state.

Puzzled, the robot turned his head from side to side.

“Ty..?” I whispered, gawking still.

His attention was immediately focused on me.

We stared at each other for quite some time before he finally responded back to me.

“Jason..?”

More tears welled up in my eyes, and I hugged him, crying.

“After all these years..You’re back..You’re finally back..” I croaking in between sobs.

Confused, Ty requested that I let go of him, lest I want to rub the tears into his system.

Pulling back, I had a stupid grin on my face.

“How are you feeling? Is everything alright? Do you want anything?”

“To answer the first question, I’m fine..I just feel a little..dizzy…The second one, I don’t even know anymore, and the last on..” He paused, considering his reply.

“Yes..?”

“..Nevermind, I’m fine..”

“You sure? You call tell me anything, you know..”

“But…”

“No buts. What is it?”

“I..Want Sky back..It should’ve been him that could’ve been saved, not me..”

A wave of despair hit me, hard, and I stayed quiet for a few minutes.

“…Please don’t hate me..”

“Why would I?”

Ty blinked. “B-Because…”

“First off, I want him back just as much as you do. Unfortunately, it’s too late for him. Second off, everything happens for a reason. When one person perishes, another prospers. That’s just the way things are.”

“Yeah, but it’s unfair..”

“Fairness..” I paused, deep in thought. “Fairness does not govern in life and death. If it did, no good person would ever die young. Besides..He wouldn’t want us to be moping around..Would he..”

Ty just sniffed and nodded quietly.

Getting up from my chair, I turned towards the door.

“Come on, Ty..We have a lot of things we need to finish up..”
