After returning from another boring and tedious mission, I wandered down the halls back to my cell.

It was already past 10:00 PM; they turn the lights off at that time.

But the laughing..that threw me off guard.

“H-Hello?” I was hesitant to speak, but it came out anyways.

“Ty…is it just me or do you hear that too?” 5KY_DR0N3’s familiar voice soothed me a tiny bit.

Proceeding to walk over to his cell, I let him out and we exchanged silent nods. The two of us stalked over to the source of the eerie laughter.

“…It’s Jason, isn’t it?” Sky asked, his voice unusually soft. I nodded in confirmation.

The other robot sighed and kicked his foot at the ground.

Turns out that the laughing was coming from one of the subject testing rooms; the same one I originally woke up in.

Slowly opening the door, I peeked inside.

I couldn’t really see what was going on inside of the room; I could only hear the asinine giggles and the soft rattling of chains being shifted.

Looking back at Sky, I held his hand as both mine and his sense of security.

Sky looked at me weirdly but didn’t say anything.

“Jason..What are you doing..?”

Jason just went on laughing like this was the funniest thing ever.

“Jason..Stop this..” Sky pleaded, getting closer and closer to tears by the second.

“Why should I?” Jason paused from his giggles long enough to look at us in the eye. Although the room was dimly lit, I could see the insane sparkle that marked him as part of Delta.

“Because you were our friend,” I retorted flatly. “I may not remember you, but I know for a fact that we were friends in the past.

Jason stared at us. “I am your friend..” He repeated, tasting each word. He scrunched up his face in displeasure.

Apparently he didn’t like the word friend.

“I am not your friend..” his mouth twisted up in a deranged smile. “I’ve lied to you all these years. I was only using you…”

“Don’t give me that bullcrap, dude..” I narrowed my eyes. “You enjoyed my company as much as I enjoyed yours. We were close; if you were only using me, why bother telling me about your problems? Why let me help you fix your issues?”

A few memories leaked into my mind; Jeffery, his beloved friend and pig, and Dillon, his loyal bat companion.

“Why bother trusting me with Jeffery and Dillon that day you left on that scouting mission? Was that all just a hoax?”

Jason stared at me in shock. Sky glanced at me, both surprised and confused.

“Let’s not forget about Sky here..” I said curtly. “He was also your best friend.” I bit my lip to stop it from quivering.

“All those times we had together..all those laughs we shared..all those dreams we aimed for..was that all a lie, Jason..?”

Jason wasn’t doing well either. His entire body was quivering and it looked like if someone pushed him over, he would shatter into a million pieces.

It’s time to deliver the finishing blow.

“Sure..You may have died and I may have lived, but can you really say that you wished that I was dead? You f*cking told me to go. You told me to live on for you, for Mitch, for Jerome..for everyone. Were you bullsh*ting me that time? Were you lying to me? Did you want to cost us both our lives or did you want to sacrifice yourself for a friend? Were you only thinking of manipulating me when you took that bullet for me? Huh? Were you?”

My voice started cracking, and tears welled up in my eyes.

“How can you look at me and tell me these lies? After what we all have been through..how can you even bring yourself to say this? How can you look at Sky who also died by Delta’s hands and think that they are worth more than your happy memories? Are you really that cruel and heartless? I’m pretty darn sure that the Jason I know would never do anything like this..attacking his friend..wanting them dead…Is that really what you’ve become, or is that another voice in your head telling you that this is what you want?!”

Tears streamed down my face and I started to sob.

Jason’s head was hanging; he was motionless and it appeared that he was also crying.

Sky was at the brink of tears as well.

He cooed “shh..it’s okay, Ty..It’s okay..” while wiping away my tears.

I sniffed and composed myself again.

“Are you satisfied? Are you happy to see your old friends melt down and cry? Does that make you feel all fuzzy inside?” I spat the words like venom. “Because I sure as h*ll hope it does..”

Breaking away from Sky, I turned and was about to leave the room when Jason whimpered.

“Wait…”

“What is it?” I hissed at him, not caring if I was hurting him more.

“Ty..I’m sorry..” he choked out in between sobs. “You’re right..I can’t believe I listened to the things Delta told me..I can’t believe that I hurt you like this..hurt both of you like this..”

Sky finally broke down and started wailing, tears cascading from his sightless eyes.

“I’m so..so sorry..I don’t know how I can make this up to you..”

I paused, considering my options.

“It’s too late, Jason. You’ve already done the damage.”

Leaving them behind, I calmly walked out of the door and back into the darkness.
