The words flickered to life on my vision, and I jolted awake.

I looked around, blinking madly as my vision adjusted to the bright light. I was seated on a metal table.
“Hmmm..” there was a girl standing in front of me, watching me curiously as she took notes.
Strange…I didn’t even know my name, what am I doing here, what hap—
“Well, you seem to be operating correctly..” the girl said.
I blinked.
She looked up at me. “Do you know your name?”
I shook my head.
“You are D3AD_L0X. Your ID number is 1337304. We, the workers here, will be addressing you with either name.”
D3AD_L0X….I shrugged, feeling nothing.
She pulled out a small metal object and place it in front of me. “I want to see if you function properly..” she told me.
I nodded, and placed my hand on the device.

I blinked a couple of times. My vision was flooded with files.

She stared at me with surprise. She checked over the device, surprised. “Completely empty..” she uttered.
I just blinked, sorting through the files I had stolen.
The person looked back at me, eyeing my face. “Tomorrow, we’ll give you another important file.”
I nodded.
The girl walked over and placed her hand on my power button, and I flinched.
“My name is Tris, by the way…” she muttered as she pressed it.
