I've been reading books of old
The legends and the myths
Achilles and his gold
Hercules and his gifts
Spider-Man's control
And Batman with his fists
And clearly I don't see myself upon that list

Mikey had been left in Amanda's apartment since early morning. The night was slowly coming to dawn, and worry struck him. She was nowhere to be seen, and her phone had been shut off.

He was haste about finding her, after all Amanda was known to be a little too egotistical when it came down to anyone threatening her. Everyone had to learn that Amanda didn't back down, and it frustrated everyone when she got herself into stupid situations.

However he didn't find her beaten or bleeding. He didn't find her with a scratch on her at all. She was peacefully sat at her mothers gravesite. The freshly buried one after the news of her mother's actual passing had come about.

"Truth is mom," the girl had let out a short cracked sob as she wiped her eyes,"I've read about all of them. The hero's who people look up to. I've watched a million stories of the princess being saved by the prince. So what if I don't want to be that! To hell with being saved, I'm strong enough to keep myself safe." The words escaping the girls mouth had been half hearted until the end. Her words had picked up and she held more meaning to them. She believed in her own abilities, that much had always been clear.

"No one said you couldn't do it, we'd just hate to see you get yourself hurt. If no ones around to help you, how will you get out?" Mikey had startled the girl as she looked up to him. From the ground he stood so much taller than her as she had let a short smile tug on her lips.

"Well it sure did take you a long time to come find me. At this point I would've passed on to the crisis of the afterlife." Amanda states as she had taken his extended hand. She was back up to her feet and standing her own before he threw his arm over her shoulder.

"Oh come on you're the one who told me to stay at the apartment. At least I came looking for you." Mikey states as Amanda had slid her arm around him setting her head against his body. For a moment enjoying the warmth he brought with him.

"Yeah thank you, who knows maybe I would've continued that hairbrained rant about not needing to be saved. Clearly I need to be saved from my own ego growing." Amanda states as the two let out furs of laughter. Enjoying the moment in the calming air of the night.

But she said, where'd you wanna go?
How much you wanna risk?
I'm not lookin' for somebody
With some superhuman gifts
Some superhero
Some fairy-tale bliss
Just something I can turn to
Somebody I can kiss

Blake had propped himself up into the window. Another late night trip he had taken out to go see Sage. Had it not been for her teaching him how to practically scale the wall to his window. He'd have to face the music and walk through the front door. He had left her about a half an hour ago, taking the longer way home to take a breather. After all it's not every night you go out on a rampage with the girl you'd lay your life down for.

He had slipped into his window, thankful for his lack of locking the thing. He knew ideally that's idiotic, leaving the window unlocked. But when you hang around a girl like Sage all the time, you learn that not many people want to mess with her. So staying away from people she cares about is a high priority in town.
