Before they all stopped at the red light the hand that signaled her to start walking flickered on. She had started her pace crossing the road. There was a new silence that fell as the cars in front of her watched as she had walked. She had continued down the sidewalk listening to her own footsteps. It was her last and final day of high school she was freed from the hell hole.
"On your left!" The voice called behind her, the girl had just slightly tilted her head back to see the man coming in fast. She wasn't quick enough to move out of the way of the skateboarder headed her way. The crash came in hard as his body knocked her off her feet. The skateboard flying backwards as he had landed next to her. A groan escaped both of them as he had leaned up on his elbow.
"Trent dude you just body slammed this girl." Emma's eyes had flickered up to the blonde haired boy in front of her who now held both boards. She had rubbed the back of her head as she watched the boy lean up.
"I am so sorry, I'm usually much faster about getting out of the way before I hit anyone. Today just hasn't been my day." The boy spoke as Emma shook her head slowly getting herself up as the boy follow. After wiping her hands off on her pants she had looked up.
"Hey you're Trent King and Troye Peerson." Emma states as she had pointed between the two boys. Trent's board was returned to him and tucked up under his arm.
"Emma Royal, you know for someone with the last name Royal you didn't fall so gracefully." Troye states as loud laughter had filled the air from the boy.
"Dude," Trents elbow had nudged at Troye as his eyes had fallen to the girl who's face had grown red from embarrassment, "don't mind Troye it's his personality."
"Don't worry, I've been in the same English classes with him for the last four years." Emma had rubbed the back of her head again.
"You're the reason I passed, all the projects." Troye had thrown his arm around Emma's shoulders as the girl had lowered her shoulders slightly.
"Believe me it wasn't hard work." Emma spoke as she gave a short glance up towards Trent.
"Hey why don't you come with us down to the diner. Troye and I were headed that way to go get some smoothies." Trent spoke, "Take it as my way to make up for crashing into you." He states as Emma gave a short smile.
"Sure why not, it's not like I have anything to do for the next few hours." Emma states as Troye's arm left her shoulders.
"Let's go, it's smoothie time." Troye spoke loudly as he put his board down.
"We'll catch up to you, I'll walk with Emma." Trent spoke as Troye looked back over his shoulder slightly as he kicked off.
