Mia's POV

My heart dropped. Tears were rolling down my cheeks, dropping onto the sand beneath my toes.

He couldn't do this to me.

Not again.

I heard thunder rumble as rain began to pour heavily from the sky.

Suddenly, Ethan spotted me.

"Mia.." He weakly shouted.

I turned around, ready to make my exit.

"Mia! Wait! It's not what it looks like!!" He shouted, catching up to me.

"Ha, really? Somehow I find that hard to believe." I spat.

"Mia I-"

"You know what, forget it, Ethan. I'm done with whatever this is. Happy now? Go run back to your precious Caitlin." I said, venom lacing my voice.

"Oh and you can have this back." I said, ripping the necklace he'd given me in Paris off of my neck, and without a second thought, I threw it into the sea.

I took one last look at him. His eyes were red, shining over with what looked like tears, but couldn't be. He ran his hands through his hair, as if he was trying to rip it out.

My heart longed to just run back to him, comfort him in my arms but I couldn't. Not after all he'd done to me.

I quickly turned on my heel and ran, the rain drenching my hair.

I ran, bumping into Grayson and Rachel- my demeanour a sobbing mess, and I could see concerned looks on both of their faces.

But I couldn't face them. Not after this.

I hurriedly ran past them, ignoring them as they called my name.

I reached my hotel room, collapsing onto my bed in soggy exhaustion.

And I cried until sleep overtook my body.

Grayson's POV

I know he's my brother, but I was beyond pissed.

I can't believe he'd do that to Mia.

Again.

I'd slapped him over the head multiple times, of course informing him about how much of an imbecile he was.

Mia was my best friend, and after seeing how heartbroken she was last night, I could hardly look my twin in the eye.

We'd reached him, and he told us what happened, as he helplessly stood there in the rain.

I knew he was upset, I was his twin, I could feel it, but I just couldn't believe he'd do something like that.

He messed up my plan.

A lot.

I'd planned a beautiful moonlit picnic on the beach for them- and I'd even arranged for a musician to play acoustic guitar for them.

It would have been incredible.

And yes, I know, I was a sucker for romance, what could I say.

And I'd picked an incredible spot for them too- the sky was supposed to be clear, and Mia would have been able to gawp at the stars- as Ethan had told me she loved to do.

And those photography opportunities she was always jabbering on about.

Too bad my dumb brother went and messed it up.
