Mia's POV

The doorbell rang just as I was putting my shoes on.

I looked at the clock- she was early, ugh.

"Give me a sec!!" I shouted.

The doorbell rang about 10 more times before I half ran, half fell down the stairs with one shoe on.

"Jesus Christ, Rachel you're so impatient!!" I huffed, opening the door.

"You're not Rachel." I said, seeing who it was, and slamming the door in his face.

Ethan's POV

"You're not Rachel." And just like that, she slammed the door in my face.

So much for 'talking' to her.

I was pretty upset, to be honest. I'd tried so hard to get through to Mia in the past few days but she clearly didn't want to know.

I trooped back to my own house- which was about a five minute walk away.

I slammed the door shut as I walked into the house.

"Woah, dude, calm down, what happened?" Grayson asked, looking up from his phone as he sat at the kitchen table.

"I got shot down before I even freaking said anything! I didn't even do anything. You know what she said? She opened the door, looked at me and said 'you're not Rachel' and slammed the door right in my face." I cried in exasperation.

"I don't know what to do anymore, Gray!" I sighed, running my hands through my hair.

"Eth, calm down. Give it some time I guess.. Anyway, we have to go- the girls will be here any minute." He comforted as we put our shoes and jackets on.

Mia's POV

"We're going to be late!! Hurry up!!" Rachel urged.

"Calm down, we're always late- does it even matter?" I complained.

"Of course it does! I need to see Jase before his big game." She squealed, attempting to push me out of the door.

"Oh, jeez, like he'll notice- he's not exactly the brightest bulb in the box, is he now.." I mumbled, picking up my bag and walking out of the house, being ushered out by Rachel of course.

"Let me go, I'm coming!" I whined, after Rachel had practically dragged me halfway to the twins' house.

She finally let me go and I walked behind her, sulking.

"Mia, don't be grumpy now, come onnnn!" Rachel giggled, trying to make me smile and break the tension.

I couldn't help the smile that made it's way across my face as I burst into a fit of laughter, only stopping as we neared the twins' house.

They were waiting outside, and I had to avoid making eye contact with Ethan.

We made our way to our school, arriving there in about ten minutes of Rachel and Grayson's painfully awkward small talk and the tense silence between Ethan and I.

When we got to school, it was quite a relief. Rachel ditched us to go and speak to Jason, and I was alone with the two boys. I had a quick chat with Grayson as I led the twins through the people, the rehearsing cheerleaders and the football players who were ready for the game with Ethan trailing along behind us.

I led the twins to where my friends were situated, and as they saw me, they gestured for us to come over.

"Hey guys!" I said, getting replies of 'hey' and 'hi'.
