Chapter 21

Mia's POV

London was stunning. A photographer's dream. The architecture, the monuments, the people, the diversity. I didn't want to spend a minute away from my camera. I wanted to capture every second.

It would have been perfect, if I didn't have this horrible nagging feeling in the bottom of my stomach.

Ethan.

Grayson and I were still playing our façade, and I didn't know how much longer I could take it.

Ethan wouldn't even look at me. I don't know if he was upset, or if he just couldn't care less.

It was hurting me, and I know Grayson was in the same situation with Rachel.

I was wandering around the City, near Big Ben- trying to capture some good shots of the Houses of Parliament, and the general London skyline, with Grayson tagging along, as my 'boyfriend'.

"Gray.." I sighed.

He looked up, clearly not in the best of moods either, his gaze questioning.

"I don't think we should carry on with this whole 'relationship' thing. I don't know why we did it in the first place because I can't do it anymore. We shouldn't have-" I struggled to iterate my feelings.

"I know.." He sighed, running his hands through his hair, exasperated.

"What were we thinking?" I chuckled, almost ironically. "A fake relationship? We sure are idiots.." I mumbled, looking down at my camera

"WHAT?" Sydney and Skye jumped out from behind us, making Grayson scream like a little girl, and making me jump a little from the shock.

"A FAKE RELATIONSHIP?" Sydney screeched at us.

Crap. Caught red-handed.

"Uh..yeah..?" I smiled weakly. "Surprise..?"

"Wait- why were you two following us..?" Grayson asked.

Now it was their turn to be embarrassed.

"Uhh..we may have been trying to catch any cute couple-like behavior..?" Skye tried to explain.

"I don't even want to know.." Grayson murmured, shaking his head.

They just stood there awkwardly, blushing.

"You can't tell anyone!!" I suddenly realised.

"But-" Sydney protested.

"No. No one. Not even Ryan. Or Jacob and Dylan. And definitely not Ethan and Rachel. Please?" Grayson desperately tried to convince them.

"Fine." Skye finally agreed, sighing.

"But why? Why a fake relationship?" Sydney asked.

"Erm.." I awkwardly shifted my weight, as Grayson scratched the back of his neck.

"Uh..we..uh..wewantedtomakeRachelandEthanjealous.." I said in one big breath.

"You what!?" Skye asked.

"We wanted to make them jealous.." Grayson repeated.

"Oh my god!! YOU LIKE THEM!!" Sydney screeched.

"Uuh..yeah.." I replied awkwardly. This whole situation was making me incredibly uncomfortable.

"AWWW!!" Sydney cooed, hugging me.

"Yeah, yeah.. Just promise not to tell anyone, okay?" Grayson tried.

"We won't, okay? You can trust us!" Skye chuckled.
