Chapter 10

Rachel's POV

"Nope. No. Nada. Never. No can do, mi amiga." Mia said, stubborn and adamant.

"Why not? It'll be so fun!!" I asked, trying to convince her.

"Dude. A road trip. You, me, the girls, the guys. That, I can do. But with the twins? Why, Rach, seriously?" She groaned.

"Jeez, what is your problem? I know you and Ethan have your issues but this could be your chance to resolve them." I offered weakly.

"I don't want to. You guys can go without me. I can get a pet fish or a parrot to keep me company over the summer or something..." She said, looking down.

I knew something was really up with her and Ethan, I mean one minute, they're the best of friends and the next, she won't talk to him.

And I knew it sounded selfish, but I wanted us to be able to spend time with the twins, because I just loved to hang with Grayson..

"MIA DOUGLAS!" I shouted, and Mia's head snapped up, startled.

"WE ARE GOING ON A ROAD TRIP. YOU'RE GOING TO MAKE UP WITH ETHAN. AND THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST SUMMER EVER." I demanded, as she looked at me wide eyed.

"Um, o-okay, I guess.." She mumbled quietly, looking pretty scared, making me giggle a little.

Well, I guess tough love seemed to work on her.

Grayson's POV

"Dude, get your ass up, Rach texted for everyone to meet at the ice cream place, like now." I groaned, trying to get Ethan up.

"No. Mia won't even look at me anymore and I don't even know what I did. Besides, she has that random dude from the party to hang with now." He moped, lying on the sofa.

"Oh, Jesus Christ, man up. TALK TO HER. Do something, dude. But let's go."

"Fine." He sighed, as we walked out of the door, ready to meet everyone at the ice cream parlour.

We were there within minutes, and headed over to our usual booth, where everyone was waiting. Surprisingly, Ryan was already there, sitting beside Sydney, grinning like crazy.

"It sure took you guys long enough!" Skye giggled.

"Did your car break down?" Dylan stupidly asked.

"Um? Do I answer that?" Ethan whispered to me.

"I don't think so.." I whispered back awkwardly.

We sat down as Rachel got ready to make a big announcement.

"So, we have a whole summer ahead of us! Three whole months, and I know we're gonna have so much fun, so I was thinking..." She trailed off.

"Yeah?" Sydney prompted.

"We should go on a road trip!" Rachel squealed, and excited chatter broke out amongst the group.

"YES. OH MY GOD. CAN WE GO TO DISNEYLAND!?!" Sydney squealed, making us all laugh.

"YES!!" We chorused, buzzing with excitement.

"Let's go to LA!"

"Chicago!"

"New York!"

"Florida!"

"Guys. We can't go to all these places in a car, like I mean they're all over America, we can't pay for all that gas, and it's just going to be too complicated.." Mia mumbled, bringing us back down to earth.

"...she's right.." Rachel sighed, disappointed.

"Let's go backpacking!!" We can go anywhere and everywhere. EVEN EUROPE!!" Dylan and Jacob spoke up.

"Oh. My. God. A good idea actually arose from Jacob and Dylan. Jesus Christ!" Skye giggled.

"Of course!" Dylan said, pretending to flick his hair dramatically, making us all laugh.

"But guys, I hate to be a downer on things," Ethan spoke up. "But none of us have the money to do that.."

"Wait, Eth." I spoke up. I literally had the best idea. "We can talk to Vine about it! If we have an established Vining goal and make a certain number of vines, they'll take us anywhere!!"

"YEAH!!" Everybody chorused.

"YAAAS BOYS!!" Sydney squealed, making Ryan giggle, as he looked at her with complete adoration, which even I had to admit was totally cute.

"And I can get a photography job, I guess.." Mia spoke up.

Everyone went sort of quiet and looked at her questioningly.

"What?" She asked, blushing slightly, and I could see how this was affecting Ethan, who was beside me.

"Photography?" I asked.

"Yeah.. Um, there have been quite a few companies willing to send me off to different countries to take artistic photographs but I've had school and stuff.. They've offered to send me and a couple of friends anywhere I want to go.." She mumbled, shy from the attention.

"My dad's company could fly the rest of us out.." Skye offered.

"Look at that, between the nine of us, we can carry ourselves.." Rachel reasoned.

"This could actually be the best summer ever.." Ryan spoke up, looking away from Sydney for the first time in what seemed like hours.

"Yes, dude! Here's to the best summer ever!!!" I said, raising my milkshake.

"TO THE BEST SUMMER EVER!!"

"This is going to be insane!" Rachel shouted.
