Hyunjin's POV
"So what happened?" Heejin asked as she combs my hair using her fingers. I'm laying on the grass and I'm using her thighs as a pillow.
"I'm just tired"
"Liar, I know it's not just that" she said while staring down at me.
"Mom wants me to quit basketball" I said and sigh.
"But why?" she asks
"She said it's just a waste of time and energy" I close my eyes, I'm feeling sleepy because of what she's doing to my hair.
"Sleepy?" she asks and I nod.
"Go to sleep. I'll watch you don't worry" she said and I yawn.
*****
I open my eyes and see a goddess looking at me. She smiled and I can't help but to fall all over again.
"Did you have a good sleep?" she asked
"Yeah" I sit up and stretch my arms.
"We should go now, Heekkie" I said while looking at my watch. I helped her to stand up and we went out of the woods together.
"Do you need a ride?" I asked as we walk
"I'll just take the bus" she said as she shakes her head
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah just go home and rest. I know you need that" she said and I smile.
"I'll walk you to the bus stop" I said and did a bold move. I grab her hand and interwine it with mine. She didn't complain and hold my hand too.
We reached the bus stop and I slowly let go of her hand. We look at each other and smile.
"Just call me when something's bothering you again, okay?" I nodded and a bus arrived.
"Annyeong bunny" I mess her hair and she waves her hand to me. I waited for her to get seated and the bus to leave. Once the bus were not on my sight anymore, I turn around and walks home.
"She's quiting that basketball" that was the first thing I heard when I enter our house.
"She loves to play basketball, Minjeong"
I walked in the living room and see my mom, my dad, my sister and my stepdad there.
"See what you did to her?" dad said and points my face. I look at the mirror and see how red my eyes are from all of the crying back there.
"Basketball is just a distraction to her" here we goes again
"Have you seen her report card, Hyunseok?" mom asked and give my card to dad.
"What's the problem with her grades? It's not that bad" he said while looking at it
"What do you mean it's not bad? Her grades have dropped since she started playing again!" mom exclaimed and Minju look at me worriedly.
"If that's the case then maybe she should really quit basketball" my stepfather said
"Shut the fuck up, Dosan. She's my daughter and not yours so shut your mouth" he said and they both glare at each other.
"She's been playing basketball since middle school and her grades has been always good. It's the first time this happened and it is clearly not because of basketball" dad said and pats my back.
"It's not her fault that your expectations are so high. She's just a kid, Minjeong. Stop being hard on her." he said as he looks at my mom
"And maybe if you stop pressuring her then her grades will be good again"
"You forced her to pursue acting even though she wants to pursue sports. She did what you want, right? That's enough. Don't take away our child's happiness" this is why I love dad so much. He understands me.
"Don't listen to her, okay? Just keep doing what makes you happy. Remember that you always have dad on your side, alright?" I nodded and he hugs me.
