Hyunjin's POV
It's 2PM and it's our free time now that's why the squad is here at the court and talking about random stuffs. Haseul-unnie also brought the transferee from Hong Kong and her name is Wong Kahei, she's nice and all maybe that's why Haseul and her clicked together. But while the two talks to each other Jungeun seems like she's not in the mood. Jiwoo-unnie keeps on talking to trying to cheer her up but to no avail.
"Unnie" Hyejoo passed me the ball and gesture me to stand up
"Hye we're wearing skirts" I said but stand up anyways
"So what"
We did a 1v1 match and then she suddenly whispers to me. They're still talking while watching us and for sure they didn't hear it.
"If I shoot this I'm gonna confess to Yerim"
"I- what?" I stand up straight and look at her as she walks towards the three point line. She took a deep breath as she aim the ball to the loop.
"She's so unpredictable all the time" I murmured and wipe my sweat off using my handkerchief. She finally shoot her shot and my eyes followed the ball's direction... Oh shit. It got in
"Hyejoo-yah" I walks towards her and she shakes her hands trying to shake her nervousness off as well
"Are you really gonna do this?" I'm just making sure that she's not gonna regret this
"I really want to get this off my chest Hyunjin-ah" she look towards Yerim's direction, she and Yeojin are sitting beside each other with Yeojin side hugging Yerim.
"You're gonna be there when shit happens right?" she said and I nodded
"Always" I pat her back and walk towards Heejin
"Here" she gave me her tumbler and I drink from it while internally screaming, panicking and more
"Yerim-ah" I put on the lid and look at Hyejoo who's standing in front of the eleven of us
"Ne?" Yerim asked and Hyejoo look down at her shoes while fiddling with the hem of her blouse
"I want to tell you something" she maybe has a lot of courage to do this 'cause I can't fucking do things like this
"What is it, Hyejoo-yah?" Yerim smiled at Hyejoo
"I like you" she finally said it and it earn gasps from our friends while Yerim froze
"I like you ever since we were kids" I saw how Hyejoo put her hands in a fist
"We're always together 24/7 since we were kids and I just can't help to fall for someone like you. You were like a sun to me, Yerim. Everytime I feel so down you always cheer me up, telling me that's it's gonna be alright and then bring me to a churros store and treat me. You bring light to my darkness, you always save me from it. You never leave my side even I bully and troll you so much but that is my way to show my love for you..." she paused for a moment to take a deep breath
"But you never notice it. You always look at me as your bestfriend. How can you be so dense Choi Yerim? Are all the efforts I did for you wasn't enough for you to fall in love with a person you just met last year instead of falling in love with me? I stayed by your side for so long Yerim" her tears are forming at the side of her eyes and Yerim can't still utter a word
"I don't hate Yeojin but why, Yerim? Why? Why can't you just look at me the way you look at her? What does she have that I doesn't? Why is it always her? I'm the one who's with you all the time but at those times you always talk about her" damn we all can't talk right now especially Yerim
"How I wish it was me, Choerry-yah"
"I really wish but my wish and prayers wasn't heard" she picks up her bag and leave the basketball court. Yerim got her senses back and hurriedly runs after Hyejoo.
