Hyunjin's POV
"A-annyeong" I greeted her and Minju crouch down to caress her little face
"How old are you, Hyuminie?" she asks
"I'm 5 years old, unnie" she smiles and I noticed something. She got Minju's eye smile but she got my eyes.
"How come we didn't know about this mom?" I look at her
"I'm sorry" I just sighed and look at the kid. She's smiling at me but I keep my poker face on
"I'm gonna go outside" I said and leave the room
"Hyunjin-ah" Heejin called me and I held her wrist. I pulled her with me and we ended up in this fire exit kind of thing
"What happened?" she asked and I just sat on the step of the stairs
"Nothing I just- you know-" I don't know how to express this feeling so I just shut up
"It's okay, Hyunjinie" she sat beside me and held my head and put it on her shoulder
"I know it's hard. Trust me I know how it feels like" she says and I just remembered that she also experienced this
"My parents got divorced when I was 2? I don't remember my exact age that time... Dad married another woman and mom married another man. It hard... Very hard but Wonnie's dad is so nice to me and I was grateful for that. He never treated me wrong and he didn't make me feel like I'm not his daughter. Even if I'm not his daughter, he always treat me as his" Mr Jang is so nice
"You're stepdad seems kind" she added
"I don't know... I never talked to him"
"For real?" I nodded and just rest my head on her shoulder
"It'll be alright" she said in a gentle tone and grab my hands. Bishhh stop it, my heart is beating like crazy right now but of course I hide it. We stayed like that until Minju called us cuz the ceremony is about to start.
"Mom asked me to take of her" Minju says as Hyumin held her right hand and held my left hand.
"Okay..." I look at the kid and smile a bit. She saw me looking at her and she smiled back at me, showing her whiskers.
"She's cute right?" Minju said and I nodded
"She's cute, I'm cute... I wonder what happened to you" she added making me glare at her
"First of all Kim Minju, you are NOT cute and second I'm not cute because I'm beautiful" I said
"Okay listen Kim Hyunjin I'm--"
"What did you just call me?" I asked and raise one of my eyebrows
"Kim Hyunjin-unnie" she gave me a nervous smile before continuing
"I'm more beautiful than you" what????
"Oh really?"
"Yes so shut up" I was about to talk again when Hyumin speak
"You're both beautiful unnies" she said and show us a toothy grin
"Please stop arguing" she then added making the two of us shut our mouth
"Why can't you guys be like your little sister?" dad said while shaking his head
"See? She's well behave and not arguing with anyone for every five minutes" he added and look at the two of us
