I was in a happy mood after being with Kaden. I smiled and walked into the office, I saw Alex who had an angry expression on her face. She walked up to me and pulled me to the bathroom, "what the fuck Naomi" she whispered.

"what" I said looking at her confused.

"um girl, do not what me, I walked into your room-"

"you walked in my room," I said shocked.

"Yeah and I see our boss and my best friend cuddling in bed," she said putting her arms in the air.

"I was going to tell you but you seemed mad at me," I said looking down.

"of course I was mad, my best friend didn't tell me she was sleeping my boss," she said looking in the mirror, "but that's not the point, did you sleep with him?" she asked.

"if you're talking about in the same bed then yes" I smiled.

"don't play that card, did you have sex, yes or no?" she smiled.

"nope" I popped the p.

"then what happened and how did he end up in our apartment?" she asked.

"well we were kissing and then clothes were removed, then i-" Charlotte walked.

"Naomi Mr. Richardson wants you in his office," Charlotte said.

I raised my eyebrows at Alex and she laughed, I walked past charlotte and went to Kaden's office. I saw him smoking, he was looking out the window. He must have heard me walk in as he turned around.

"hi," he said.

"hi," I smiled. I sat on his desk and watched him as he smoked. "are you sure you don't want to take the day off?" he said putting his cigarette out.

"no" I smiled.

"once this guy arrives you can't leave until he does, it'll be bad for me if you do, you can leave right now if you want," he said sitting in his chair.

"I told you already I'm not taking the day off" I smiled. I saw his doors open and in walked a familiar face, I looked at Kaden and saw his face change from happy to serious.

I looked at the guy and looked at him confused.

"Hello Kaden, Naomi" Mr miller looked at me.

"Adam," I said shocked.

"from high school" he winked.

I got a flashback from that night.

-

"adam stop" I cried.

"shhh it'll be quick" he whispered, I cried in pain and he pinned my hands down.

"adam stop please" I cried.

"if he can have you, so can it," he said aggressively,

"STOP" I cried in pain

  -

I felt my eyes water and I looked at Kaden who was now talking to Adam. I looked at the two men behind him, they looked like security.

I couldn't walk out now, Kaden told me that I couldn't leave once he was here.

I walked to Kaden's sit that he had hung up on the coat hanger, I took out a cigarette and looked at Kaden, he was looking at me while he talked to Adam and he had a confused look on his face.

No wonder he looked confused, I wasn't the type to smoke.

I took the lighter out of the suit pocket and lit it while looking down at the city, I inhaled and tried taking a deep breath. I coughed.

"Naomi," he said from behind me and took the cigarette from my hands. I looked at my iPad on his desk and walked past Adam. I felt Adam's hand on my waist and I looked at Kaden with tears in my eyes.

He looked at me confused and I felt a tear roll down my cheek, I didn't bother with the iPad. I didn't care that Adam was in here, I wasn't listening to a word he said.

I walked up to Kaden and sat on his lap, I rested my chin on his shoulder. I felt his hands go around my waist, they were moving. I'm guessing he was signing something,

I looked down at the city and saw how busy it was. "goodbye Adam, see you next week" Kaden said smiling.

"see you next week Kaden, goodbye Naomi," he said. I ignored him and felt Kaden's hand on my thigh. I looked at him and he looked at me seriously.

"goodbye Adam" I said not looking at Adam who was behind me.

I heard the door shut and I waited a minute, "so that's why you wanted me to stay home today" I said angrily.

"yes because I knew this would happen," he said relighting the cigarette that I had just used.

"because he raped me Kaden what did you expect to happen?" I said.

"I didn't know what would happen, why else do you think i wanted you to stay at your apartment," he said touching my face.

"don't do that" I pushed his hand away.

"See, I've already hurt you," he said, I looked at him confused and he looked at me, "what?" he said.

I looked at his arm tattoos and rolled the sleeve up more, "why does this say death" I looked at him as I ran my finger over his tattoos.

"because that was I time when I preferred to be dead" he whispered and leaned in to kiss me, I pulled away and looked at him.

"I uh-i need to sort out some files," I said trying to get off him. He stopped me by pulling me down, "Naomi, what is it?" he asked.

"nothing" I mumbled and got off him. I walked out of his office and went to talk to Alex.

Kaden's POV

As she walked out of the room I sighed. I looked at the antiques from my father on my shelf, I took one off the shelf and threw it on the floor.

I looked at the rest and threw them on the floor, all of them were smashed and I kicked them across the floor.

I didn't want her to be there, I hated Adam but I was only doing the deal so he wouldn't go for my father. I know what he did to her and I hated him, I broke his nose for touching her.

Every time I fought someone after our breakup I imagined it was Adam.

I wanted him dead for the way he touched her, mistreated her- shit for the way he manipulated her into thinking they were just talking.

I looked at the broken pieces on the floor and sat on my desk, fuck I can't be here. If I see her cry again I don't know what I'll do.

I saw her walk in and she looked at the pieces of glass, I looked at her eyes and noticed she was crying. she walked up to me and I pulled her onto my lap.

"what" she mumbled.

"don't be like that" I whispered.

"we're at work Kaden, act like it" she smirked.

"I am, i can do my work and you" I smirked.

"you're disgusting" she laughed, I heard my phone go off and i answered it. "hello...yes Olivia....no I can't," I said looking at Naomi.

"I'm sorry liv, you'll have to speak to my assistant" I smirked at Naomi and handed her the phone.

"hello" Naomi said.
