THE ANUAL SNOWMAN building contest had started, and Lola was already annoyed at Jude. Jude loved all the town events and activities, and every time he would rope Lola into going with him. Lola didn't hate town events, she just wasn't the biggest fan. Besides, what's the fun in trying to win a snowman contest when a professional snowman builder is in the game? The answer is no fun.

"This doesn't even look like a snowman. It's a snow blob with a face." Lola groaned, stepping back to take a look at her artwork.

"Optimism is key, babe." Jude smiled. "And after, we can get coffee and go to my place. My parents are away for the week." Jude winked. Lola forced a smile.

"Great!" She exclaimed. "I just have to check with my mom and brother, we might be doing something for break. Also, Sage, Rory, Lane, and I are probably going to hang out together, we never get free time together."

"Well if you're busy, just cancel. I'm sure you family and friends will understand." Jude smiled, putting an arm around his girlfriend.

The Independence Inn had planned a huge dinner for some out of towners, but they got snowed in. Lorelai and Sookie were obviously bummed, trying to figure out what to do with all the leftover food, decorations, costumes, and horses. Lola kept coming by their diner table, offering them coffee and cake that would be on the house, but they were too sad to accept.

"I've got thirty pounds of aged beef, trays and trays of trout, mountains of pruned tarts. I diced pumpkins until my hands turned orange. I've got pumpkin hands." Sookie groaned, on the verge of tears.

"Take a sip, hun." Lorelai said, gesturing to Sookie's full coffee mug.

Sookie just shook her head. "How can you stay so calm about this?"

"There's nothing we can do about it." Lorelai shrugged.

"I can't believe they got snowed in." Rory frowned.

"All that work, all that extra help we hired. Oh well. At least they paid for it already. We didn't lose any money." Lorelai said, always trying to find light in bad situations.

"Yeah I guess. You know, I could still make up the dinner for the three of us. And Lola! Lola should come." Sookie smiled softly.

"Yeah, but then it would be like the four of us, all alone in the dining room." Rory cringed.

"It would be like The Shining, except instead of Jack Nicholson, we have Rune." Lorelai joked, half serious.

"Want anything besides coffee?" Luke offered, walking over to the girls table.

"Hey, what about Luke?" Sookie grinned, looking up at the man with a backwards baseball cap.

"What about him?" Luke asked, pouring coffee.
