LOLA HATED SCHOOL, BUT that didn't mean she didn't try. She needed good grades for her future, and she certainly wasn't what you would call a 'slacker'. Perhaps if she went to a school like Rory Gilmore's, she'd have a better chance of getting into Yale, but her family could never afford a school like Chilton. Besides, Lola hated plaid.
So instead of complaint at Luke's Diner while she served coffee, she was sitting in the back of the classroom at Stars Hollow High, taking an english test.
"Fifteen minutes left." The teacher said. Mrs Evans would glance up every now and then, only to make sure her students eyes were on their own tests, and not other students.
"Lola. Lola." Jess whispered from behind her.
"Shut up!" Lola hissed.
"I need a pencil." Jess told her.
"And I don't care." Lola shot Jess a glare before turning around in her seat to work on her test.
"Don't be mean." Jess teased.
Lola rolled her eyes."You only have fifteen minutes left."
"Then I need the answers." Jess said, leaning in so she could hear him better.
"There's a pen in my bag." Lola said, kicking her backpack closer.
"I can't go through your bag." Jess shook his head.
"Yes, you can." Lola nodded.
"My mother told me never go through a lady's bag...at least, not until you're a couple blocks away. I'm just kidding, she never said that. Though it sounds like pretty good advice, doesn't it?"
Lola grabbed a pen from her bag and shoved it Jess's direction. "Take it and shut up."
"Well aren't you just full of small town charm." Jess grinned.

Luke Danes didn't exactly know how to care for children, which wasn't exactly a great thing because he was supposed to care and look after his nephew. He was supposed to do what was best for Jess, and just make Jess's life better in the long run. And failing school didn't really make your life better, so Luke was in search of a tutor.
"Hey, uh, is Lola. here by any chance?" Luke asked Tania when she opened the door to the James house.
Tania nodded. "Yeah, she's in her room."
"Can I talk to her for a sec?" Luke wondered.
"Sure, go right ahead." Tania smiled and moved away from the door so Luke could go upstairs.
"Hey, thanks." He smiled, and quickly walked up the stairs to knock on Lola's door. "Lola, it's Luke. Can I come in for a minute?" He said behind the closed door.
