Hogs for days

The boys really are recovering as best as they can, Regal and I have been helping them overcome their trauma as best as we could. We even took them to Argrorath so they can enjoy the area and it has been helping them. The mammoth herd has been their favorite part of their visit.

Entry#2

The farming of daeodon has been booming, they have a large litter of around five to six piglets each and some have had twelve. This breeding has caused the currency to rise up and it has officially been declared that metal would be the currency for now. One of our main Daeodon famers wanted to respect Harold's legacy and discontinue his breeding of the daeodons, slaughtering them all expect his favorite breeder, Cerberus. Cerberus was originally given to Harold as a pet but Harold was against it so Cerberus was given to Elias but Elias couldn't keep charge of the beastly animal and found him destructive so Elias gave him to Regal who gave Cerberus to me and it is indeed a handful. Cerberus is messy, noisy, he is aggressive and he eats nonstop, he isn't fully tamed either so that was the real challenge, taming a feral daeodon who was bred around humans but never bred for domestication is harder than training a wild one.

Regal made Cerberus a space in the back where he can be kept outside, he made it sturdy enough to prevent him from escaping so now Cerberus spends most of his time outside where he enjoys it more and this keeps our house clean.

Early in the morning I get a knock on the door and it turned out to be Harold Vincent himself, this was a bit of a surprise since we never truly spoke to each other, haven't even made eye contact once but there he was, on my doorstep, asking me to help him trap animals for the game field they were deciding to make. I didn't have to think hard about it for me to decline, I was actually surprised that Harold would want to make a hunting field in the first place since he was against the farming of daeodon. I didn't want to use my knowledge of taming these animals only to have them killed, wasn't something I felt was right.

Once again Cerberus has become a hand full. He has been very "active" lately and has tried "Doing it" with Wither, which is a sign that the hog needed to be snipped. We haven't done much neutering around here, if we had an overpopulation of dogs, some would be put down. The only time animals are snipped is at home with their owners, which was usually risky and plenty of dogs were accidently killed because of it. Females couldn't be spayed at all since we do not have that type of resources yet, but I think I know someone who could safely get Cerberus fixed. Eleanor is a great healer for both people and animals, since we couldn't safely walk Cerberus to the vet center, she said she would see him at our house instead. Cerberus being such an aggressive animal forced us to passively knock him out, using narcoberries. Daeodons had a high torpidity and this would require him to eat at least half his weight in pounds to get him asleep, this wouldn't be too hard though since he never stops eating, we will just have to take away all of his other food and replace the baskets with narcoberries.

After 3 hours of him eating the berries, he finally came to but not after he almost caused himself some injuries because he freaked out once he realized that he was starting to become dizzy, he wrecked the fencing pretty bad but once he was finally down, Eleanor was finally able to operate on him as carefully as she could, it didn't take her long and she was as careful as she could be. She gave him a cone made of thatch so he wouldn't harm himself while recovering.

When Cerberus finally woke up, he was a bit confused and didn't even notice the cone on his head, he just went back to eating like nothing had happened. Over time, Cerberus has indeed become more calmer and not as aggressive as before. He still is messy and noisy, eats three times as much more but not as destructive. Keeping a Daeodon is expensive indeed, I don't recommend it for anyone.
