A Disturbing Find

Seems that I was correct about Elias having a feeling about something else going on. He approached me this morning, knocking on my door wishing to speak to me. I let him in and offered him fresh water to drink as he made small talk. He was trying to beat around the bush before finally asking me if I could, myself find out what was truly going on. I of course agreed, anything for my tribe. Zulu still seems tired so I'll let him rest before taking him.

It's a bit more later in the afternoon. Zulu and I are staking out the area. It seems that it is the farmhands and gatherers who are being targeted, usually when they stray too far from the rest. Still no signs of anyone or anything. If it was another tribe, it must've been a small one or maybe they were more out and just would send someone out to commit the deed? Now I understand why Elias was having second thought, this doesn't seem simply like the threats of another tribe, if a tribe at all.

The scene we just came across is the most disturbing thing I have ever seen. The smell wrenched my stomach instantly but the sight itself made me hurl. There were bodies, a few I recognized but others I didn't. They were hanged by the neck on a tree, their torsos missing from their body. It took me a minute to realize that the toros were on the ground, they were lined up, making an imperfect circle. The snow was bloody, I started to feel sick again and my head began to hurt from how bad the smell was so Zulu took me out of there.

I don't know if this was a threat to our tribe since unfamiliar faces were there as well. The way they were killed were out of sick pleasure. Disgusting, I still feel a bit woozy so I'm just going to rest against Zulu's warm fur for now. I trust he'll protect me against any threats.
