꧁ Josephine's Pov ꧂
My head is throbbing. I open my eyes.
It isn't that bad than I expected.
I drank so much wine but I understood that I'm doing really good when it comes to not get to wasted even if someone makes me drink a ton of wine.
I'm not a weak for the alcohol.
I remember everything, I was stumbling a bit on my steps but I knew what I was doing.
I let my muscles relax under the warm water.
I put myself into a T-shirt, beige blazer, black jeans and brown boots high till my knees.
I escape from the apartment faster than ever and I drive myself to the usual coffee shop were I already find Douglas sitting in a table.
The first thing that I notice is that his beard is gone and he looks like 3 years younger.
I see a waitress place two mugs on the table he is sit at.
He gets one closer to him and then he looks up at the red haired girl with a nose piercing.
Her eyeliner is thick and well drawn.
I read his lips, they say a "thanks" to her showing her his usual kind smile that melts hearts even in the coldest mornings.
She smile him back and I see her go back to make some other orders with the smile staying still on her lips.
I can get why she's this happy and a bit surprised. People even at this time of the day, they never have time to even take they eyes off from their computer or smartphones.
Something wakes me from that state of trance.
Is Douglas hand that is waving at me and just now I realise that I'm standing on the entrance staring at him. I look at his curved lips while his eyes are literally glinting.
So I smile and I walk to him.
What do I do? Do I just sit? Do I hug him or do I kiss him on his cheek?
Shit. I'm not good at making new relationship with people anymore.
I remember how he kissed me last night.
I still can feel the way his lips pressed gently on my temple.
I still can't describe how I felt for the first time in a long time.
That little kind gesture made me forget about the many hard times I've gone through in this last year.
The way that his finger drawn circles around my cheekbone with a really careful and gentle touch.
His eyes were holding mine.
Just do it, I tell myself so I reach the table and before I get to sit on the untaken seat right in front of him I place myself at his shoulders, I lean down placing by head between his left shoulder and neck. I lean closer to his cheek till I get to place my lips on his cheek.
His skin is so much softer than I thought and it smells like aftershave.
I lean back and I get up straight.
"Good morning." I say walking to the chair.
"That's a really good morning." he murmurs.
I place my laptop on the table, my bag on the chair and I start to take the buttons of the coat that I'm wearing while I'm staring at his words open eyes that are trying to get back to normal while he curls his lips in a smile.
I giggle and I put the coat around the headboard of the chair and then I see his eyes travel down on my body admiring my outfit.
I sit and I nervously push my hair back, placing them back my ears and shoulders.
"How's your head?" he asks slowly pushing the other mug, placing it right in front of me.
It's a Cappuccino.
"It's not that bad I thought it could be worst but I wasn't drunk at all. I remember everything." I say.
"I know it. You were just a bit more happier that's it." he says smiling.
"Yes. Thank you again for last night." I murmur to him.
He shakes his head "Thank you." he says and right after he bites his muffin.
Looking at our breakfast I get nostalgic.
I miss my everyday New York breakfast slash brunch.
I miss taking the train, eating a avocado toast with egg on it or a breakfast burrito... I don't know, I just miss America.
