꧁ Josephine's POV ꧂

The door finally opens while the only thing I can hear is Scarlett and Selena's heavy breathes like they just ran a marathon.

I was expecting to see Hero opening the door for us but Morgs's face appears.

I see his smile drop and his eyes move from my face to my arm.
Then I realise that I still have my arm around Scarlett's shoulders so I immediately take it away from her while Morgz still staring at us.
I swallow even hardly, not because the weirdness of the moment but because of the neck brace.

I turn in Selena's way and hug her without an hesitation.
I can't talk so the only way to  thank her is hug her.
I feel her smiling on my shoulder while I'm caressing her back.

I step away and I look at her preoccupied eyes that are looking at my whole face.
"Take care, pay attention at everything and don't even think about letting out even a letter from your fourth." she says using the tone that she uses to yell at Elle when she messes up.
I lightly smile thinking about how lucky I am to her her.

I literally won when I decided to hang out with her, making the best decision in my life.

She's the perfect best friend and I finally found her after a long searching and falling in so many traps of people that treated me like a fool.

I have to thank Christian. The one that made this friendship possible.
I kiss her cheek and after showing her a smile I walk in.

I finally step in and I don't feel like I was expecting.

I don't know why but this don't feel like home even after spent some horrible hours in that plain hospital.
I guess I'm missing New York more than I thought or maybe the people that are inside seems more like strangers.

I find Morg's still waiting for me to fully walk in, holding the door for me.
I do some more steps, he closes the door while I take my shoes off.

I open my arms and he hugs me gently.
"What she is doing here?" he whispers my ear and I step back and rise my shoulders.
"She is everywhere... C'mon." he says pointing the walkway.
So we walk  in the direction of the voices that are dialling between each other.

I finally reach my beautiful living room that in fact is my favorite place of the apartment.
My face go on fire when I see him.
Felix.

Our eyes immediately meet.
He stands up while I'm too busy staring at the beard that is covering his chin and cheeks.
It's a bit weird to me but he looks good in it. He look more mature in it while his hair are the same hair that I remember.

"Hey." he says brushing nervously his hand on the denim jeans that are wrapping loosely his thighs.

Why he is nervous tho?

I mean, I'm also emotional about seeing him after more than a year since he was the closest one after Morgz from the Hero's friend group... but he has no reasons to be this nervous.

Maybe he thought that I'm mad at him?

I show him a smile.
He smiles me back still not knowing where place his sweaty hands.
I don't know but I find it so adorable.

Felix was adorable and is adorable anyway, no mater what he does.

"Are we still friends?' I mime to him and I see him frown his eyebrows.

He starts to look around, searching for his friends eyes.

"She can't speak." Morgs explains standing right back of me.
I see his face drop and his eyes go wide.
he opens his lips like when the mouth goes dry.
"W-what?" he asks and I understand what he is thinking about. The worst possible.

"She has to rest her vocal cords." Hero explains standing from the white couch leaving Scarlett sit on it.
"She ask you if you two still friends." Hero continues  telling him the exact thing that i mimed to his friend.

He is so good at reading lips.

Felix turns in my way and his eyes travel down my neckbrace.
"Of course we still friends!" he says so offended like I just called his mom a bitch or something.
"Come here." he says opening his arms so I finally get closer to him.

"Be careful." Hero says before Felix gets to wrap his arms.
"Yes grandpa!" Felix says hugging me lightly while he mocks his friend.
I look at Hero rolling his eyes to the ceiling with a smile.

I missed this.

Hero and Felix's little arguments, where I was always in the middle and I had to be the judge.
I always ended up with having one of them mad at me because I didn't choose to stand by his part.

I bite my lip and I stare at him.
He shakes his head with a smile.
"My Jojo." Felix says loud enough.
"I missed you." He continues whispering at my ear.
I step back and with the index finger I point at myself and and the i show two fingers.

He frowns his eyebrows confused.
Now I am the on that rolls the eyes.

"It means "me too" dumbass." Hero says shaking his head again.
"Listen. I'm not good at this mimic shit." Felix says offended turning in Hero's way.
"Because you were and you still a dumbass bloke." Hero says trying to hide a amused smile.

I look at Morgz and he turns in my way at the same time.
We smile at each other reading our minds.

I guess I'm not the only one that missed these two together.

I find so fascinating the way they mock each other like they never been away.

"You motherfuc- , I can't even say that since Martha is two times a better person than you. You dipshit." Felix says giggling  and Hero bites his lip.
I take my jacket off and I let myself fall on the sofa almost hurting myself
"But remember that this dipshit made you have an operation that could cost thousands of pounds but you got it for so much less." Hero says walking closer to Felix.
"Josephine look at his perfect nose." Hero says grabbing Felix cheeks  with one hand and turning his face in the way that I can admire Felix's profile.

Hero isn't lying. Felix's  nose is perfectly straight now.

I see Felix look weirdly at Hero with a disgusted face expression.
Right after he looks at Morgz and than me.

"Yes... Josephine..." she says hesitating a lot and than I understand why he had that reaction.
He is not used to hear Hero calling me by my entire name.
"Tell him that my nose was even perfect even before that!" Felix says taking Hero's hands away from his face.

We all look at each other face and he realises that.

"You all are pieces of shits!" he says  offended and I try to laugh but I stop immediately when a sharp pain takes place on my throat.

Someone bells so I look around and Scarlett stands up.

"I'll go." she says and I see Morgz and Felix stare at each other and Hero look at them noticing the weird stares.

We hear some voices and then we see Martha walking in followed by Mercy and Scarlett.
I look at the pink tulips that she's holding.

She looks at Felix  like she just saw a ghost.
"Oh, look who is showing after a long time!" Martha opens her arms with a smile on her lips.

"You were in hibernation or something?" she asks hugging Felix.
"Ugh Martha I missed you as air. I swear." he says giving me his back.
"You two didn't had a fight like this since the middle school." Martha says giggling snapping back.
"We never had a fight like this." Felix says looking at Hero with a light smile.

"I guess there is a first time for everything." her says rising his shoulders.

"Jo" Mercy says walking to me so I stand up to hug her.
She hugs me a bit tighter than Felix but she doesn't hurt me.

"Oh God." I hear say so I look straight while my chin is still on Mercy's shoulder.
Martha is staring at me with her mouth open and eyes wide.

I guess the neck brace seems even more tremendous than I thought.
