Hero's POV

18 August, my Josephine's birthday.
The day that I was working so hard for.
It was so hard to get everyone to the surprise lunch party at her favorite restaurant with the most beautiful view over the Tower bridge.

Everyone was so surprised for the lunch and not dinner but I admit it, I'm a little bit selfish because I want to spend a moment just me and her in her special day.
It's the last birthday that she will celebrate just me because next year with us there will be our little baby girl or boy.

I hope she's not suspecting of any surprise since I had to beg Douglas to make her end work at the lunch time because I'll kidnap her from work and bring at the surprise lunch party.

I wished her happy birthday last night exactly at midnight.
I enjoyed every moment with her and we ended up with make love.

This morning while I was walking around the house barefoot trying to make her breakfast I was thinking how lucky I am to have this life.
The many goals that I had in my bucket list for years are already done:

Buy my mom a house to call hers✔️
Pay for my sister's education ✔️
Play for a important club ✔️
Have my own house✔️
Make sure that Felix had his own house ✔️
Someone to have on my side till my death ✔️

And last but not least:

Build own family ◽️

That I'll mark when the baby will be born.

"Hey what are you doing here?" Josephine asks while I give Douglas a look and he understands and nods.
"I'm taking you out to lunch in a fancy place." I tell her banding over the desk and kiss her lips.
She kisses me briefly and then she frowns her forehead.
"I thought that you was going to take me out to dinner tonight." she says correctly.
"Yeah but that doesn't mean that o can't take you out for lunch." I tell her "Am I right?" I ask and this time I looks at Douglas.
"So right. Jo go I'll handle this." Douglas says.

I kinda like him when he's not a pain in the ass.

"Are you sure? There are so many things to do." Josephine says concerned about the amount of work she will leave him for today.
"Don't worry now go." he says.
So she stands up, shuts down her computer, takes her bag and placed the chair in a very tidy way.
She takes my hand and then we wish him a good evening while we're headed out.

"Lunch where?" she asks once we get to the lift .
"It's a surprise." I tell her pressing the butt to call the lift.
I lean my shoulder on the little wall and cross one leg at the hight of my ankles, crossing my arms at my chest.
She smirks flattered.

I know how much she like attentions.
How can I blame her? We all do.
She comes closer to me and then hugs my torso.

"The last birthday was horrible." she confesses to me and then I remember the fact that we were apart that year.
"How you spent it?" I ask curious, since she was in New York, the most beautiful city on the earth for her and the concrete jungle where dreams are made of as Alicia Keyes sings.

I can already picture her in the most fancy New York club having dinner with her friends, but her friends were all here... so, did she made some friends there?
