꧁ Josephine's POV ꧂

I hug myself when the wind hits my face.
I let the morning air slip into my lungs.
His car doors opens themself welcoming us.
We silently sit on our seats.
I look at him driving us outside our parking lot.

I thought that I saw his coldest side yesterday but seeing him this being this quiet it makes me even more worried that yesterday.
His being this impatient makes me wondering if he remembered something when he was reading the last part of the book, but I don't have enough forces to talk to him right now.

I let even my thoughts be the most quiet possible and actually enjoy the ride that feels more the calm before the storm.
I look at the dark sky. It's fully covered by clouds that looks more like a blank page.
Even if the sun is up there is no way to the sunrises to show up.

The stress are desolated. We just see few cars in the highway.
When I look at him I look at his eyes and at the red light of the car in front of us reflect on his iris.

He clears his throat waking me up and when I figure out what I've been doing I look back straight at the car in front of us.
Did I really got caught staring at him??

"What happened after the new year?" he asks with su eyes glued to the streets.
I take my time to formulate the answer thinking about what we did right after the little New Year getaway at Chris's lake house with the boys.
"There was the pandemic. We spent the entire lockdown together with Nathan." I tell him and I see him curl his lips in a smile.
"Nathan." he says with that dreamy tone, almost like he remembered about him.
"Do I will get to meet him again?" he asks softly.
"I don't know , he is in New York right now. Maybe one day." I tell him.
"Go ahead." he says referring to my telling.
"Then we bought the apartment , Liverpool came right after and then you started the trainings with them." I stop getting emotional about the next part of the story.
I swallow trying to untie the knot around my throat.

"Then I guess the broking up happened..." he suppose.
"Yes."I say simply since I'm literally getting chocked by my own emotions.
"Why it happened? Who's was the fault?" he demand.
"I think  it was fifty and fifty." I tell him.
"You was so absorbed by your work... You slowly stopped coming back to home for the weekend, you stopped to hang out with your friends here, you were smoking weed ... but the thing that made me get my distances way the fact that you were lying to me." I say quickly.
"About? " he asks.
"You were telling me that you were always busy with your teammates but I discovered that you were hanging out with Scarlett." I tell him while I get some flashbacks of that night that I went and I found just Morgan.

I look at him and I see his eyes and nostrils wide open . I immediately understand what he is thinking.
"No no, not like lovers, don't worry, you wasn't a cheater." I reassure him.
I see his nostrils going back to normal while his cheeks are blushed.
"And another thing was you forgiving your dad and not telling me nothing about it. It can sound so childish but trust me It was a really big thing for both of us and the fact that you didn't tell me but Scarlett knew it from you really hurt me." I say and then I clear my throat making him giving me a preoccupied stare.
"But with this I don't want you to think that was all your fault because I also could be a bit less selfish and try harder but I just took my stuff and left for New York." I say being tough even with myself.

We get to the little house.
He bells twice standing so close to the door.

The door slowly opens and we find her sleepy face.
"What the are you doing here at this time and how you know where I live?" Scarlett asks rubbing her eyelids.
"We have to talk" he says walking in and then she sees me, her eyes go wide.
"What are you doing here?" she simply asks with a disbelief tone.
"Since you were always at my apartment we decide to have a sleepover at yours." I say.
"Scarlett let her walk in." he say.
"Are you both nuts? Did you saw the time?" she asks standing.
