After I got off work, Beomgyu and I walked to the boutique like I promised before. Beomgyu held onto my arm, since my hands were in my pockets. We were both dead silent, Beomgyu keeping his head low.
I looked over at him and gave him a nudge.
"Hey Gyu, don't worry about what happened earlier, yeah?" I said softly, "I'm just glad you're safe and Soobin helped you. How about we spend some time together, okay?"
He smiled slightly, and nodded. He reached in his pocket, taking out a couple crumpled up bills and handing them to me.
"This was the leftover change from getting the beret," He said with a smile, "I should pay you back one of these days."
"Nah, it's fine," I dismissed, "I made a little extra from tips tonight, I think we could get something that matches if you want."
Beomgyu's eyes lit up with excitement, "You mean it?"
I hummed in response, as we crossed the street again. We got to the boutique again, we wandered inside and looked around at all the different clothes and accessories inside.
Beomgyu retrieved a black beret, putting it on my head. He tucked out a couple strands of hair and grabbed my hand, leading me to a mirror.
"I think this one looks great on you!" He beamed, showing me the tan beret he had gotten earlier, "I see you wear black a lot... so I figured you might like a black one instead of tan, so I'll just take the tan one."
I scoffed, adjusting the beret on my head and looking in the mirror.
"I guess I should add a little more color to my closet, huh," I teased, Beomgyu blushed and giggled.
"No no! I didn't mean it like that!" He chuckled, hitting me playfully, "I think you dress nice, black and white really suits you."
"How about we get matching bucket hats and berets?" I suggested, "Then we can match whenever we go out."
"Or what about matching shirts?" Beomgyu commented, "I could wear red and you could wear white! It'll be like those little candies with the red & white stripes!"
Beomgyu looked around the store, running off and returning with one red sweatshirt and a white one. He handed me the white one and told me to try it on.
We both came out of the fitting rooms, Beomgyu smiled happily as we both stood in the mirror.
"Doesn't this look great?" He beamed, happily tucking his hands in the pockets.
"They're so cute!" I reply, adjusting the collar of the sweatshirt. Beomgyu put the black beret on his head, setting his tan one aside.
"Do you think we'll be able to get both sweatshirts?" He asked, "And maybe another hat for you too?"
I hummed in response, looking around the store some more. I found another white sweatshirt which looked similar to the one Beomgyu picked for me.
"Here," I said, handing it to him, "Try this one on, I think it'll look adorable on you."
Beomgyu walked out of the dressing room, excitedly running over.
"Oh you know me so well, I love this!" He approved, looking at himself in the mirror and fixing his hair.
"We're getting it right? Please?" He pouted innocently. I nodded, the two of us changing back into our normal clothes. Beomgyu handed me the white sweatshirt and put the red one back.
I walked over to the counter and paid for the items, the cashier putting them in a paper bag for us. I handed the bag to Beomgyu and we started walking back home.
"Soo Beomgyu," I mention casually, "What happened back there? You know, the whole thing with Soobin and then like— he was talking to you."
"Oh that? He called me cute and then he asked if I had a home," Beomgyu replied, "Then he asked what my name was— as if I was just gonna suddenly start talking with a legit voicebox, diaphragm, and vocal chords."
I looked over at him, disgusted.
"Okay you didn't have to mention the vocal chords and stuff," I said, "But what about before that?"
Beomgyu let out a 'hmm', putting his hand to his chin.
"He called me cute."
"No, before that," I asked.
"He put me on the ground? Then called me cute?"
"No, no, before you ran into Soobin," I inquired, "Like— before you ran back to the tavern, what happened?"
"I was buying a new hat?"
"Okay, after that," I sighed in frustration, "The part where you running."
"Uhh- I crossed the street?"
"NO! Okay," I pinched the bridge of my nose in frustration, "The part while you were running to Soobin, who was chasing you?"
"Oh," Beomgyu looked at me blankly, "You could've just asked that in the beginning. But I dunno, I don't remember their names, but there were three of them in total."
"You're right, I probably should've asked that to start," I sighed, "Do you remember what they looked like at least?"
"How the hell am I supposed to know?!" Beomgyu exclaimed, throwing his hands up innocently, "Did you want their autographs too or something?"
"Nevermind," I sighed as we got back home, "Just— Forget I asked, alright?"
"Asked what?"
"You know— About the-" I paused, "Nevermind, nevermind. We should get some rest, it's getting late."
=====
Later that night, I closed the blinds in my room. I turned off my lamp, plugged my phone in it's charger, and settled back into my bed. I laid around for what felt like a couple hours, trying to find a comfortable spot when I heard the bedroom door open.
There was a silhouette leaning in the door way, and holding a pillow under their arm.
"How come you sleep with your door closed?"
I shrugged, pulling the blanket over my head.
"Go away Gyu, I'm trying to sleep," I said from under the blanket, "What do you need?"
"Okay so, remember that one time I got scared of the thunder?" Beomgyu asked quietly, "What was it called when I shared the bed with you and then I fell asleep next to you?"
I came out from under the blankets and sat up, turning on a lamp.
"You mean cuddles?" I asked, "I mean it was more like you slept next to me, but is that what you're talking about?"
Beomgyu's face lit up and he nodded eagerly.
"Yes cuddles!" He replied, "I like that word. Can I have cuddles? I-It's a little lonely on the couch."
I paused for a second, then moved my blankets aside and patted a spot next to me.
"Sure," I smiled, Beomgyu running over and putting his pillow next to mine. I switched the lamp off again, and pulled the blanket over the two of us.
"Thanks Yeonjun," Beomgyu mumbled groggily, settling into the bed. I hummed in response, resting my head on the pillow tiredly.
Beomgyu inched a little closer to me, resting his head on my shoulder and his hand on my chest.
