They both fell asleep, a few hours later Cal was woken up to Benji struggling in his grip. He opened his eyes to see a sweating and shaking Benji in his arms.
"Benji?" Cal asked very concerned,
"I-I-I'm cold." he whispered, Cal pulled the blanket over them more and hugged him. He reached over and pressed the call nurse button, Benjis started crying,
"What hurts?"
"Everything." Benji cried in his chest,
"What hurts the most?"
"Tummy." Benji said, Cal looked down and realized that he was holding his stomach protectively. He turned Benji on his back, Benji groaned in pain. He lifted Benji's sweatshirt up to reveal his stomach. Cal gently rubbed it back and forth,
"Does this help a bit?" Cal was now sitting up on his elbow facing Benji. Benji nodded and relaxed into the bed. Two nurses including Nurse Kate walked in and saw what was happening. The other nurse checked Benji's temp, 105.4 F, high but not deadly. She dampened a cloth and put it on his forehead,
"What hurts?" Nurse Kate asked kindly,
"Tum-my, throat, head, leg." Benji stuttered,
"I bet."
"Oh and I'm cold." Nurse Kate nodded and grabbed a thermal blanket. She took off the sheets that were on him and put the blanket on him. He started to shake a bit less,
"I'm going to give you an IV to help with the head and leg problem, mhmk?" the other nurse asked, Benji nodded in agreement. After Benji got mostly comfortable considering he had a pretty bad fever, his eyes were getting heavier by the second.
"Are you comfy?" Cal aske stroking his bangs out of his face, Benji shook his head no, his back was killing him.
"Up." Benji mumbled, that's the only thing he managed to say. Cal understood that he wanted to sit up. He grabbed a few pillows from the dresser and helped Benji sit up. He put a few pillows behind him so he was comfortable, he adjusted his IV to be more comfortable. "Thanks." Benji snuggled into the bed, Cal laid beside him again and wrapped him in a hug.
"I love you." Benji mumbled into Cal's shoulder, Cal smiled and hugged him tighter.
