It was a week after their clutch win. They were now going against the Red Flyers, they were super tough.
It was 18 - 20 gladly they still had leverage.
About 30 minutes in and Benji's leg was acting up. Ugh! He hated when this happened. He didn't tell anyone when he was hurting, he would get embarrassed.
They were 5 points ahead of the Red Flyers. Benji had the ball and was slightly limping his way to the basket. He sadly couldn't jump high enough to not get it. One of the players knocked it out of his hands and made Benji fall on his butt. Wow, that was embarrassing.
The team called a time-out. Benji tried to get up but just failed. Cal and Tyson rushed over and helped him stand and walk over to the bench. Once Benji was seated, Tyson went to grab a towel and water for him. Cal helped him take off his leg so it would be less uncomfortable.
Benji's head hung low, embarrassed. "Hey~ Bean, you don't have to be all embarrassed. It's ok." Cal rubbed his thumbs under Benji's eyes. Benji didn't feel like talking so he just nodded. When Tyson came back, he handed him the towel and water.
Benji put the towel over his head to hide more and drank his water stubbornly. Cal sadly smiled, he kissed Benji's hand and went back to the game.
It was now half time and Benji felt a lot better, he felt bad not telling the team he hurt but they quickly forgave him. Jake let him back into the fourth quarter only on one condition that he told one of them that his leg hurt.
They had 12 minutes left of the game, it was 48 - 54, them winning.
Cal had the ball, he gave it to Rin who scored quickly.
They took back the ball, Tyson had the ball, he gave it to Jake who scored.
8 minutes left
The other team scored a few more points then they scored more points.
3 minutes left
Benji scored, Cal scored, Tyson scored, Rin scored
It was now 50 seconds left - just like the last game neck and neck. 59 - 60
Benji had the ball at 20 seconds. He was on the other side of the court. He passed it to Rin, running down the court he was wide open. RIn passed it down the court so now Cal had it and he was right next to Benji but he was surrounded.
10 seconds
Benji quickly ran behind Cal where there weren't any guards. Cal passed it to him, acting like he still had the ball.
4 seconds
'It's now or never' Benji thought as he waved through a few more blockers.
3 seconds
He jumped everyone a good distance away so he had a clear shot. He went to do his signature dunk but someone snuck behind him trying to swat the ball.
It was 60 - 66 so if they scored they would win.
Benji decided to change to a lay-up so he had a better chance at scoring with being off-balance with a dude behind him.

He shot.
He...
SCORED!!!
THEY WON!!
Now everyone was in full-blown tears. They were a sweaty mess, their coach, managers, everyone joined into a big hug.
Once everyone calmed down Benji and Cal might have had a little make-out session, no one stopped them, everyone was beyond happy. Even Tyson and Jake were making out. Braden and Sam also might have been doing some stuff.
Their families came down to the court from the stands to congratulate their kids.
Brit tackled Benji down on the ground screaming with excitement. His mom hugged him, kissing him on the head, she even hugged Cal.
"Life is too short to start your day with broken pieces of yesterday."
