It was the day of the game, everyone was playing their best of their ability. The Blue Jackets had no idea what hit them.
Benji was doing great, scoring points after points. Jake even let him stay for the second quarter. Things were going great. Everyone's families were there, well not Cal's but he had Mary and Brit on his side.
It was halfway through the second quarter, it was 29-34. Benji had the ball, he slipped through everyone's grasp because he was so small he could easily go through every one.
He was right at the basket ready to dunk it, but a very tall dude jumped in front of him. Benji knew that he was going to do that so he faked jumping, he went to the other side while the dude was still in the air and dunked it.
Everyone cheered, Benji was super happy. He hasn't gotten by someone that tall in a while. He walked over to Cal and kissed him on the lips gently.
"Well, someone is overconfident." Cal laughed, he hugged Benji tightly,
"Eww, no~ you're stinky!" Benji whined,
"I love you too." Cal laughed. The ball was then the Blue Jackets, Max being Max grabbed the ball quickly. He handed it to Carson, then to Cal, then to Tyson, then to Jake who shot from the three-point line and scored.
It went from 31 - 45
20 minutes left
To 40 - 49
18 minutes left
Then 45 - 53
10 minutes left
The 47 - 58
5, 4, 3, 2...
One minute left. Benji had the ball. He could hear the clock ticking down. He was surrounded by the Blue Jackets. He was at half-court. He saw an opening and shot. Hopefully, the practice paid off.
20 seconds
15 seconds
The ball flew through the air, halfway it was a perfect shot.
10 seconds
Everyone held their breath, waiting.
5 seconds
It hit the rim and went into circles, torturing everyone waiting to see if Benji made it.
3 seconds
It fell out, it was a foot off the ground when...
1 second
Cal grabbed it and quickly dunked it.
The game ended.
They won!
The whole team was in tears, they get to go to the finals!
Benji hugged Cal not caring that they were both sweating madly, they were too happy. Benji connected their lips. They hugged for what felt like 5 hours but it was only 10 seconds.
They pulled apart. "We did it, Cal!" Benji smiled,
"We did it Bean!" The whole group huddled together for one big hug, oh how happy they were!
