KP's POV

Have you known that moment when you felt like you had lived a lie all your life? Well, here I was in front of my role model, who turned out to be my mother. How would you react to that? You've never heard about your mother nor seen her, yet a baddass lady you admire turns out to be the exact woman you longed for? Was I her fan or daughter?

I'm pretty sure the prior.

"When were you going to tell me?" I started. Tears welled up in my eyes. "You abandoned me. Why?"

Uncanny folded her arms and gawked at me. "Why did you leave me? Dad? Why did you throw us under the bus? I needed a mother and the one person I so dearly wished to have been there turns out to be you? I admired you. I don't know whether to hate you or love you, Uncanny. If you can un-birth me, please do it-"

"Cut the drama. I don't have time for this. Ciao." She retorted, walking away. Leaving Marley, Josh and I in awe. I can never, unseen what had just happened. My eyes were as red as veld fires, I could taste the salty contents that oozed from my visionary glands. My heart throbbed, my own mother just rejected me. As if she never carried me in her womb. My sniffling turned into uncontrollable sobs. I ran to the guest room that was supposedly my room, and poured out my soul on the pillows.

Everything hurt. From being betrayed. To being dumped. To losing my dad and to top it off, I met my oh-so-loving mother (note the sarcasm). It was already hard having an identity crisis. I didn't even know what I was. My skin spoke out loud. I listened, every single day.

"Kamilah? Can I come in?" Marley inquired.

"Yeah, sure." I replied, drying my face. She came in and sat next to me.

"I'm sorry you had to find out like that. Uncanny can be very difficult sometimes, but she's not all that bad. Her biggest problem is that she doesn't listen."

I scoffed. "Yeah right. What an extravagant maternal instinct she has." Marley sighed.

"Kami, you also have to go back to school. You can't wallow up in self pity forever."

When Uncanny got to her house she slumped onto the couch face first then broke down and cried. She had the first encounter with her daughter after seventeen full years. She didn't know how to handle the situation and she reacted in the most uncanny manner. Indeed, she had no soul anymore. Upon the midst of her mental breakdown someone called out her name. "Where have you been?"

She sniffled and wiped her tears off. "Not now, please." She said and started to walk towards the kitchen. The guy stalked her from behind and caged her against the counter.

"You do not get to walk away from me, sweetie."

He held her firmly by the wrists. "Let me go." She stuttered.

"Oh, getting a little fierce are we now? That deserves a punishment. Tell me where you were."

She huffed, heart racing. "I went to see Marley..."

His eyebrows furrowed, "Marley would never make you have a mental breakdown, unless..."

Uncanny's eyes went wide. She tried to hold her composure and not seem unaffected. "That little brat is still alive." Uncanny dared not to say another word. "Uncanny baby, did I not warn you? Did I not tell you that I did not want any traces of your insolence? I am very disappointed." His voice was stoic. Cold and calm. Uncanny knew very well it wasn't going to end well.

"Javan, please just leave her alone. I'm with you now. I'm here. I-"

Javan placed a finger on her lips to shut her up. He leaned in closer. "You just don't learn. You love to disrespect me don't you?" Uncanny shook her head violently. "We'll just have to fix that, like I've always done."

"No! Please"

"Uncanny, did you just raise your voice at me? I am the man here. And you just had to go out there and make it known that I am not by being Brewsfort's favorite little bachelorette-princess-wanna be. Why do you do this to me? Can't you see that I love you?"

Uncanny blew a fuse. "Love me!? You've made me suffer all my life since I met you. You isolated me from my family. I can never tell my best friend about my problems because you're capable of killing her. I hate my own daughter because of you. What kind of love are you talking about Javan!?"

Little did she know that she was unleashing a monster with her fury. Javan slapped her hard and released her from his hold. Uncanny held her cheek, not surprised but hurt. "I loved you once, but since I met Michael, I've wondered what I loved in you, Javan. You're a monster!" She spat.

If he wasn't an inferno before, he was now a walking volcano. Fury evident in his eyes. "You better head upstairs or I will kill you. Now!" He shouted. Uncanny wasn't shaken.

"You've done worse to me, Javan. I've gotten used to it. Your abuse has made me void of any fear." She stood her ground.

Javan wasn't going to have it. He was beyond furious. He locked his hands around her neck and watched her choke. He gripped it firmly enough to not let her pass out or die. "You forget sweetheart, that I can do shockingly vile things to your little spawn. If you don't want to be searching for her in hospitals or disposable body bags, respect me. Besides, we wouldn't want your fans to know what happens behind closed doors do we?"

At that point, Uncanny had no choice but to oblige. Whether it was about her career or her daughter, the answer to that lied with her. Maybe she did love her daughter more than her career. No one knew that but her heart. She nodded and he released her. She struggled for air as he walked away. Feared encrypted all over her.
