KP's POV

"I don't know why I thought I could warm up to you. But clearly my intuition was right from the start." Uncanny fumed. I don't know how I found myself in the same car as her. The tension was so thick, I could cut it with a knife.

"Whatever your intuition was, it was crap! Who gave you the authority to do what you did?" I exploded.

"I AM YOUR MOTHER!"

"You're not worthy of that title. You belong in the business world. Your presence has no meaning to me. You're as good as dead to me! I hate you!" I screamed.

"I wish I never conceived you!" She blurted.

"Enough! Both of you!" Aunt Veronica intervened, but she was already too late. Uncanny may have not meant what she said but...it hurt. I felt like a broken mirror...reflecting the kind of person Uncanny wished to be.

We got home, before I could make a run for to my room, auntie stopped me. "A counter press conference was held. Things should be okay, Marley took care of it." Auntie stated.

"For once she actually did her job," Uncanny scoffed.

"She didn't do it for you. She did it for her." Auntie replied, giving me a sad smile.

"Whatever!" Uncanny retorted.

"Grow up Bonnie!" Amandla stated clearly exasperated.

"Bonnie?" I asked

"Great. Just great. Look at what you have done now."

"Oh please! Stop blaming others for your mistakes." Auntie chimed.

"Whatever. I'm out of here." She said and left the house. My focus shifted to Amandla.

"Explain. Who is this Bonnie?"

Amandla sighed, "As much as I would love to tell you everything, it's not my place to do it. I'm just hoping she comes around in time." I rolled my eyes and went straight to bed. How I woke up the next day beats me.

I got dressed and auntie drove me to school. For the first time, the car ride was silent. I got out of the car and entered the school. As I walked in the hallways, I felt everyone's eyes glued to me. Some even stopped to stare at me. I felt so alone in the midst of a crowd. Whispers all around me and not the friendly kind.

I got to class and went to sit at the back. "You're Uncanny Valley's daughter aren't you?" A male voice said to me from my right side. I glanced at him. He gave me lopsided smile. "Not much of a talker? You surely gave a mouthful yesterday." He scoffed.

I tried to suppress the anger I felt and rearrange it. "Hi! Kamilah Paisley Maeve. Nice to meet you." I grinned.

The guy eyed me up and down. "You forgot Valley." He retorted.

"Uh nah, I didn't. I have my father's last name only. That woman is as good as none existant to me."

The guy chuckled, taking in his appearance did I notice something off. "I've seen you before..." I mumbled.

"You sure did. Walter. Angelo's Santo's cousin." My heart sank. For one: he mentioned Angelo's name and two, they were family!

"I know exactly who you are, princess." The mockery that came out of his mouth enticed me in ways...I never knew possible.

"Are you supposed to be in this class?"

"No. But I like watching you junior's from a close distance." He grinned and left. Leaving me utterly bothered.

The school hours flew by unnoticed, until I was summoned to the principal's office.

Instead of getting in the office, I stood by the door, for the conversation held sparked my curious nerves.

"It saddens me Vero, we were such an amazing trio." Headmistress chirped.

"I know May, but she has to be held accountable for what she has done. I love her, but, I can't find it anywhere to forgive her." My aunt sighed.

"It wasn't all her fault you know. I had a hand in it too."

"But you told me your part, I want to hear hers as well..."

"Excuse me," I called out opening the door.

"Kami!" The headmistress greeted. "How are you?"

"Fine thanks headmistress. How may I be of assistance?"

They both shared a look. Gesturing for me to take a seat. "Kami, your aunt has had a proposition that you occupy the dorm rooms, in order to let loose on all the family drama," my eyes narrowed.

"Because of this new scandal, you need to focus on your finals honey." She paused. "And it's not like I'm kicking you out of my brother's house, I just thought it would be better than having to deal with unnecessary adult stuff." My aunt stated.

I took in all they've said and they were right in a way. "Okay, I get your views. I'll decide when I'll move in if that's okay with you."

"Not a problem, take all the time you need." Headmistress closed off.

After classes I went to see Lucrecia. Knocking on her dorm room. No response. I then decided to call her. "Hey,"

"Hey! Sorry I had to leave early today, you know tomorrow is my birthday and daddy decided to take me on a special trip!" She exclaimed.

"But don't you want to be around your friends?" I asked.

"No darling. Daddy knows best. It'll be okay. Love you, bye!" She hung up. I sighed feeling loneliness consume me, I hoped that her birthday would keep me busy and occupied.

It's weird how days have been passing me by. I hated people's knowing gazes on me. It made me wonder what Marley's counter speech was.

"Ready to go?" My aunt drew me back to reality as I entered her car.
