Saturday night, three days before the exhibit Anna was invited at dinner party ng may-ari ng Gallery, the founder and ceo at ang mga katulad nitong artist. She's honored and so happy, thinking about the conversation she may begin with her co-artist.
She got on time at the venue, tinignan pa nito ng paulit-ulit ang oras nang mapansing wala pa ni isang tao maliban sa mga f&b attendants. The place was reserved, lumapit siya sa isa sa mga attendant and when she was about to ask she heard a voice at her back.
"Goodevening Miss Anna." It's Sir Nick, the ceo. She's thrilled but delighted as well.
"Goodevening Sir Nick." Nakipagbeso ito.
"I think everyone are taking their time to prepare themselves except for us." They both laughed.
"And I also think perfect time din ito para mas makilala pa kita." He's nice. He toured her at the place at tama nga ang iniisip ni Anna na si Sir Nick ang may-ari nito.
"Come on let's have a drink." He entered a room where fine dining was already prepared. Biglang nahiya si Anna, they will have a dinner ng wala pa ang ibang bisita but Sir Nick insisted.
Nick let Anna seated before him.
"So, how's your life doing Anna?" Nick asked after he sips his wine.
"Good Sir. I still have one art to finish...."
"No, no, no, not that. Not the work, I mean you and please stop calling me sir, Nick lang." Anna smiled at him.
"I'm okay Si---... Nick." She's trying to adjust like she's talking with her friend.
"You enjoying you're stay in the city?" He asked.
"Yes, spent more time with my fam." She's starting to get on the track.
"You did choose the very good path. Your talent is very rare sa panahon ngayon, many knows how to paint but are just okay, no other special factor but you, you're precious. Thanks to Lizzie, she found you." Sobrang na-overwhelmed siya sa mga naririnig. Nick kept on talking and complimenting her, it's nice but it's getting awkward and boring.
Hindi rin nito mapigilang mag-isip kung bakit wala paring mga bisita sa mga oras na 'to. Anna tried her best na hindi mapansin o maramdaman ni Nick na nakakaramdam na ito ng pagka-bore.
"Nadiskubre mo naba yang passion mo nung highschool ka?" He randomly ask. Umiling si Anna, she doesn't want to elaborate her past, she doesn't want him to ask any of it.
She checked her phone to see the time.
"What taking them so long." She smiled awkwardly but Nick ignored it.
"Aside from painting, san kapa magaling Anna?" Nagpatuloy siya sa pagtatanong. Napansin din ni Anna na sobra itong curious tungkol sa kanya.
"I know how to cook pero sa tingin ko hindi ako magaling." Anna just answered it. From her phone, she messaged Lizzie kung anong oras ito makakarating sa venue. She sent a lot of messages to her pero kahapon pa ay hindi pa ito nabubuksan at hindi niya rin ito makontak. Sobra talaga siyang na-excite sa gabing ito and it's a bad idea na hindi nito kasama si Lizzie.
Nagkaroon ng nakakabinging katahimikan. Nick stop talking subalit pansin ni Anna ang hindi maputol na tingin nito sa kanya. Her mind screaming for a disturbance from a person to come in from their room sana, pero wala.
"At first, I was hesitant to ask this but upon checking your face, your figure....."He explored his eyes from Anna's figure.
"everything. I am finally convinced that it is you." Napakunot ng noo si Anna. No idea of what Nick is talking about. He stood up and got a thing on his pocket and then he came closer to Anna and gave her a box.
