Heather woke up the next morning to dark skies. She sat up and looked around for JD but he was nowhere to be found. She figured he may have gone back to his own bed or maybe he had an 8 am class, she didn't know his schedule but she made a mental note to ask. Heather dragged herself out of bed and put on a white sweater and draped a yellow cardigan over it. She pulled on a pair of white jeans and put on her boots. She checked the time and it was only 8:15. Her first class was at 11:30 so she decided to go on a walk, after all it might rain later so it would be good to get exercise before. Heather opened her bedroom door to hear the sound of bacon sizzling and she curiously peeked her head out of the door. There, standing in the kitchenette, was JD. He was shirtless and wearing a pair of jeans. He seemed to be humming a song, which Heather recognized since he had always had it playing in his house. She slowly walked to her bag, not trying to draw attention to herself so she could easily slip out the door. As she was double checking to make sure she had everything she needed for classes, JD looked up and saw her. "Good morning, Heather!" She looked up and nodded before going back to rummaging through her bag. "Well, c'mon, have some breakfast." Heather shook her head. "I don't eat breakfast. Thank you though." JD wrapped his arms around her waist. "You have to eat breakfast. It's the most important meal of the day, right?" Heather shrugged and closed her bag. "I'll see you in English, JD." Heather slung her bag over her shoulder and walked out the door, leaving JD alone. JD sighed and quickly ate breakfast before taking a shower and changing. By the time he has everything ready, it was 10:45. He grabbed a muffin for Heather and ran across campus to his English class.

He looked through the window and saw that only two people were in the classroom. The professor was writing on the board, obviously making sure the whole lesson was on the board. Heather was sitting at her usual spot and copying down the information on the board. JD chuckled at how organized she was. He entered the classroom but no one paid him any attention, but he didn't care. JD took the seat on Heather's left and didn't bother to say anything till she had finished writing. "Hey." Heather looked up. "Hi." "I brought you a muffin since you didn't eat breakfast." JD set the muffin down in front of her. "You need to eat something." Heather sighed and took a bite of the muffin.

At 11:30, pretty much everyone had arrived so the class started. Around 12:15, a clap of thunder was heard and the classroom lights turned off. A few shrieks were heard before the professor cried, "Everyone calm down! It's just a storm. The electricity may be off for a while though, so for now stay seated and chat. The room quickly burst into noise. JD had noticed that someone had grabbed his hand when the lights shut off and they still hadn't let go. He took out his phone and turned on the flashlight to see who the person was. He turned the flashlight to his right to see Heather squeezing his hand looking terrified. JD shut off the flashlight and reached over to pull her into his lap. She flinched away and JD leaned closer to her and said, "Shhhh darling. It's just me. C'mon, I'll let you play that game you love so much." JD turned on his flashlight again and held out his hand. He sat on the floor, like everyone else had done, and turned off the flashlight. "C'mon darling~" Heather blushed and moved to the ground, across from JD. They sat like this for a few minutes before thunder boomed again and Heather quickly found her way to JD's lap. JD hugged her and kissed the top of her head. "It's okay, darling. You're safe. I'm not gonna let anything hurt you." JD could tell she was hyperventilating so he decided to go on eye level with her. She looked scared and he could tell she thought she was in danger. "Hey, sweetheart, look at me okay?" Heather looked at him. "I'm not gonna let anything hurt you. It's just a storm, it'll pass. Do you wanna play a game while we're waiting?" Heather held onto his arms and shook her head. JD kissed her forehead and before he knew it, her lips were on his. She pulled back and turned a crimson red before mumbling an apology. JD hugged her tighter. "You don't need to apologize, you did nothing wrong." She rested her head on his shoulder and eventually drifted off to sleep.

45 minutes later, she was woken up by JD. "Hey darling. You gotta wake up. They're starting to clear classrooms one by one since they just canceled classes for a week. There's a tropical storm on it's way." Heather rubbed her eyes to see that the lights were back on but the classroom is empty. JD smiled. "Have a nice nap, my love?" Heather shrugged and grabbed her bag and shoved everything inside it. The two hurried back to their dorm where JD had dropped his stuff at the door and said, "I'm gonna go get some stuff okay?" Heather nodded and he opened the door. "Wait!" JD stopped and looked at her. "Hm?" She hurried up to him and wrapped her arms around his neck. "Be safe, okay?" He smirked and kissed her neck. "You know me, darling." He lightly nibbled on her sweet spot, smirking at how quickly she had given into him. "I'm always careful." He kissed her cheek and left.

An hour later, JD arrived back at the dorm and set the groceries down on the table. "Heather?" She sat up from her spot on the couch. "I'm gonna take a shower, okay?" Heather nodded and he  quickly showered before joining her on the couch. "I got some vanilla wafers. I know you like those." Heather nodded and climbed into his lap. "You were gone a really long time..." JD kissed the top of her head. "I know, darling. It's a mess out there. You miss me though?" Heather turned to face him and hugged him. "I always miss you when you're not around." He chuckled and moved her hair aside to reveal a hickey where he had kissed her neck earlier. He smirked. "Missed you too, darling. I forgot to tell you how beautiful you looked today. Love you." Heather blushed and mumbled, "I love you too."
