The Sunbird and Crow (Heather McNamara x JD)

The next morning, Heather and JD awoke to an empty house. According to the note her parents left on the coffee table, they were going to be out of town to visit some more friends. At first it was very awkward between the two of them. After they ate breakfast in silence, they sat down to watch some Christmas movies. Heather got cold and she sat up and announced she was gonna go get a blanket. She was gone for about 5 minutes when she came back with the fluffiest blanket JD had ever seen. He couldn't help but laugh at the sight of the short cheerleader covered in a blanket bigger then her. They sat and watched Frosty the Snowman and around 20 minutes in, Heather got up and laid on JD. JD hesitated for a moment before hugging her. She hugged him back then turned her attention back to the movie. JD studied her face. He saw adorable little freckles that peppered her face, her icy blue eyes, and her pink lips. He couldn't help himself. He spoke, "Heather? Can you look at me for a second?" A puzzled Heather turned around and her lips met JD's. When they broke apart, JD began to apologize but was cut off when Heather kissed him back. Taken aback by someone returning his affections, he scooted away and hugged her knees while staring at the ground. Heather watched him for a moment before saying "Did I do something wrong...?" and scooting closer to him. JD shook his head and tensed up upon seeing her so close. Heather sighed and wrapped her arms around his waist. They sat there in silence for a while then JD took her hand and mumbled "God I love you." Heather blushed a little and responded, "I love you too, Jason Dean." He smiled and hugged her. The two spent the rest of the day laughing and talking by the fire while drinking hot chocolate.

Christmas break came and went and before the students of Westerburg knew it, they were back in school. Heather and JD has spent the last few weeks meeting in secret, both knowing Heather Chandler would flip out at Heather for dating someone who isn't popular...

"Jesus Christ where is Heather?" said the blonde clad in red. "I don't know Heather." replied the short haired brunette next to her. The blonde turned to the girl and said "We'll need 3 passes for class, Veronica. 4 if Heather comes." As she said that, Heather McNamara came around the corner from behind the building. McNamara thought nobody had seen her when in fact someone did see her. That someone was Heather Chandler. "Well Mac has been missing quite a few of our mall trips. But what's she doing behind the school? It can't be cheer, cheer is after school." thought Chandler. Her thoughts were interrupted when Heather McNamara appeared beside her. "Hi Heather! Sorry I'm late, I had to do something." Chandler only nodded in response. "It wouldn't have mattered. Heather is making Veronica fill out passes so you would have been late anyhow." said the girl in green with a small giggle. As the quartet walked into the school, Veronica and the other two Heathers were laughing about something. Meanwhile, Chandler was trying to come up with an explanation for Mac's lateness and canceled plans. Just as they got to their lockers, a  guy in a trench coat walked by. "Jason Dean." thought Chandler. She didn't hate him, heck she never talked to the guy but he just had that vibe of someone unpopular. As he passed, he winked in the direction of Mac and Mac blushed. At that moment, Chandler immediately understood. She came up with a plan to get Mac to admit it. Sure, JD wasn't popular but McNamara is like Chandler's little sister. Chandler thought, "I guess if he makes her happy it's fine. Just depends what he's like with her." Then with that last thought, she slammed her locker door and walked off.

(Timeskip to lunch time)

The four girls sat down at their usual spots in the cafeteria. As Veronica read her book, Mac and Duke were discussing the latest fashion trends when Duke said "You're awfully quiet today, Heather. What happened? Did you spell 'myriad' wrong again?" Duke smirked a little and Chandler snapped. "Shut up, Heather!" "Sorry, Heather." Chandler smoothed her skirt and continued, "And no, I spelled it right this time. I just have something on my mind. That's all. Don't ask." The girls finished their lunch in silence and headed off to their afternoon classes. After school, Mac asked Chandler if she wanted to come over to do their homework together and Chandler accepted. An hour and a half later, Chandler was sitting in McNamara's room while discussing their biology homework. Once they got through all their homework, Mac sighed and said "Finally! All done!" and flopped down on her bed. Chandler nodded and said "You're dating JD, aren't you?" McNamara sat up and said "Umm...fine yeah. I am. Just tell me I'm out of the Heathers here. It'll save me some embarrassment tomorrow..." Chandler shook her head and said "You're not out of the Heathers. Of course, I'd prefer if you dated someone popular but I guess as long as you're happy. But I swear, if he does anything bad to you, I will hunt him down and murder him." McNamara laughed a little and replied "Well, thank you. But, he's really nice." Chandler spent the next hour asking questions about their relationship to make up for all the canceled plans and secret keeping. Once Chandler left, Mac called JD and told him all about Chandler's visit that afternoon. JD was happy that he wouldn't have to meet her in secret but he was afraid of going public with the relationship as well. He was afraid he would upset Mac or she would break up with him. Those thoughts immediately went away the moment Mac said "I love you. See you tomorrow!" before hanging up. He went off to bed smiling and looking foward to the next day.
