The Sunbird and Crow (Heather McNamara x JD)

As the year went on, Heather McNamara and JD met in secret and became the best of friends. Heather had started blowing off plans with the other Heathers and Veronica just to hang out with JD. On Halloween, instead of going to a party, JD came over to her house and they watched horror movies all night. Whenever asked when she blew off plans, she always had an excuse that everyone bought. She tried getting JD to come over and have Thanksgiving with her family but he declined her offer, claiming that his father would get upset. JD knew that wasn't true and he hated lying to Heather but it was for the best. Heather was the only person JD trusted and as much as he tried to ignore it, she was also the only person he had feelings for. He immediately knew he liked her when she curled him next to him during the horror movies on Halloween. Ever since then, he became very protective of her. Christmas was coming up, JD's least favorite holiday and Heather's favorite. Heather knew that JD didn't have many good Christmas memories and she wanted him to be happy this Christmas. She invited him over one day in early December and the two decorated the house. Heather's parents came home that night and asked about all the decorations. Heather explained that she was trying to get JD in the Christmas spirit. Her parents had heard a lot about JD and suspected that Heather cared about him more then just a friend. That night, once Heather had fallen asleep watching a movie, her parents hung up mistletoe over the kitchen entrance and devised a plan to get them both under the mistletoe at some point. (A/N: Heather's parents playing Cupid oop) The next morning, Heather noticed the mistletoe and figured her parents wanted that so they could kiss each other and annoy her. Laughing at the idea, Heather avoided the mistletoe whenever anyone was around.

It was Christmas morning and Heather woke up to a beautiful sight outside. It was covered in snow with icicles hanging from roofs. She went downstairs and greeted her parents with a merry Christmas and they took turns opening presents. They played Christmas music and baked cookies until 6:30 when Heather went to go get changed for pictures. When she came back downstairs, she saw JD sitting on the couch while discussing politics with her father. She crept past them and found her mom in the kitchen. "Mom? What's JD doing here?" Her mom looked up and said "Well we invited him and his father over. He said his dad couldn't make it. Poor boy, his father isn't around on Christmas." An hour later, they were done with pictures and dinner so they sat down to watch a movie when Heather's parents went to the kitchen. After about 5 minutes of being gone, her parents called both of them into the kitchen and just as they walked under to mistletoe, her mom said "Stop!" They both stopped right under the mistletoe. Heather's parents smirked and her dad said "Look up." and her parents left the kitchen. JD and Heather were extremely confused until they looked up and both blushed. "I'm so sorry about my parents! They can be a bit-" JD cupped her face and kissed her. They broke apart, both blushing furiously when Heather grabbed the collar of his trench coat and kissed him. Both blushed even more and walked off in opposite directions. They sat down to finish watching the movie when Heather's parents announced they were going to meet some friends for a little while. Once they left, JD and Heather continued watching the movie. After about 45 minutes of silence JD spoke, "I love you, Heather." Heather took a deep breathe, paused the movie, and said "I love you too, JD." Upon hearing those words, JD smiled and pulled her into his lap. He spent the last few scenes of the movie thinking about what had happened. When the movie was over, JD kissed Heather and practically whispered "Will you be my girlfriend?" Heather nodded and he pulled her closer and hugged her. He swore he'd never let anything or anyone hurt her. She was his and he was hers and nothing would change that. The pair spent the rest of the night talking about their Christmas's and put on another movie. Heather fell asleep on JD halfway through the movie. JD hugged her tighter and started falling asleep himself. An hour later, her parent's came home to find the new couple cuddling on the couch. Satisfied that their plan worked, they went off to bed feeling content.
