The next morning, JD stopped by McNamara's house to give her a ride to school. She walked out of the front door just as JD pulled up on his motorbike. He gave her a smile and said "C'mon, I'll take you to school."  She smiled back and attempted to get on the bike but she was too short. JD chuckled and helped her onto the bike. Before they took off, JD said "Hold on." She put her arms around his waist and rested her head on his back, taking in his vanilla scent. As they approached the school, the distant sound of JD's motorbike was heard by none other then Heather Chandler. Chandler smiled to herself, knowing McNamara was with JD and she was happy. Chandler vowed that  if anyone dared to insult McNamara about dating JD or if anyone made fun of them, she would make their lives living hell. JD and Heather pulled into the parking lot and got off the bike. McNamara quickly explained she had to meet the other Heathers and Veronica. JD nodded and kissed her cheek before bidding a goodbye and walking into the building. As they did this, Kurt Kelly and Ram Sweeney were watching. "She did not just come to school on that freak's stupid bike and then allow him to kiss her!" fumed Ram. Kurt replied, "She's probably moved on. It's been like 3 weeks y'know."  Ram angrily stomped off and Kurt followed. McNamara walked over to Chandler, Duke, and Veronica with a smile. She caught Chandler's eye and Chandler winked at her before continuing to talk about an upcoming party. Chandler was wasting her breath because Duke and Veronica were too busy comprehending what just happened. Halfway through Chandler's usual speech about how important the parties are, Duke interrupted, "What- sorry Heather, but what just happened? Did you just come to school with trench coat kid and did he kiss your cheek?!" McNamara blushed and nodded. Duke looked at Chandler and said "Aren't you upset? She broke up with Ram like 3 weeks ago! You know the rules! We're supposed to date popular people like Kurt and Ram!" Chandler stared at Duke before saying "Shut up, Heather! I already knew. It's fine by me which means it's fine by you. Understand?" She eyed the brunettes. They both nervously nodded, knowing they would be humiliated if they didn't do as Chandler ordered. "Now that we have that settled, back to the party. It's a Valentines Day party, which is a great time to hook up with some of those college boys. This party could mean we move up in the social chain, don't screw this up!" There was silence until McNamara quietly spoke, "I think I'm supposed to do something with JD on Valentines Day. Probably just a movie or something. I could cancel if you want me to." Chandler shook her head and said to the cheerleader, "No Heather, you don't have to come. You can stay home with JD." McNamara smiled and said "Really?! Thanks, Heather!" Chandler nodded and replied, "Don't mention it." Duke looked agitated and burst, "How come she gets to skip out on parties to stay home with her boyfriend?! How come she doesn't have to follow the rules like we do?!" Chandler decided she had enough of Duke and yelled, "SHUT UP, HEATHER! BECAUSE I SAID SO!" The whole courtyard turned to stare at them. Chandler smoothed her blazer before turning and announcing that she was going to class. McNamara waved goodbye to Veronica and Duke before following Chandler to their class.

The morning class passed without an incident. Everyone seemed to understand that if they made fun of JD and McNamara, they would have to answer to the almighty Heather Chandler. The bell rang, signaling the end of 4th period and start of lunch. McNamara and Veronica met up in the hallway and walked to their lockers before going to lunch. "So you're dating trench coat kid, huh?" asked Veronica. McNamara blushed and nodded. Veronica smiled to herself, "As one of your best friends, I have to tell you that he's pretty damn hot." McNamara giggled and said "I suppose you're right." "You suppose?", asked a voice as the voice hugged her from behind. McNamara turned around to see JD hugging her and she said "Fine. Yeah." He chuckled and turned to Veronica. "Greetings and salutations." Veronica gave him a puzzled look before replying, "Hello?" JD let go of McNamara and offered his hand for Veronica to shake. "Jason Dean. JD for short." Veronica shook his hand and said "I know. Mac has only talked about you all morning." McNamara shook her head and said "It wasn't all morning!" Veronica clapped a hand to her forehead before replying, "How could I forget? It was all morning and what's been of the afternoon!" She grinned at Mac before saying "Just joking, Mac. It's nice to hear you talk. You don't talk a lot around people." JD looked at Mac before saying, "Really? Because she will not shut up around me." Mac grinned and said "Oh shush! You know you love me." He kissed her cheek before saying, "Do I? Yes, yes I do." Veronica smiled at how happy Mac looked before looking at her watch. "Oh shit! We're late to lunch. We better get going. Bye JD! Nice meeting you!" Veronica then ran off to the lunchroom. JD kissed Mac before bidding a goodbye and walking to the library. McNamara ran to the lunchroom and found Veronica, Chandler, and Duke sitting in their usual spots. She raced over to her spot next to Chandler and sat down. "Sorry, Heather! Ronnie and I ran into JD." Chandler waved her hand as if swatting a fly. "Don't worry about it. It's fine." Chandler looked at Veronica and said "Did you meet him? What's he like?" Veronica shrugged and said "He seems legit. Nice enough." Her answer seemed to satisfy Chandler because she no longer pressed questions. The girls got up and got their lunch and ate in silence for a little before Chandler announced she was going to miss school the next day. McNamara asked if there was a family emergency and Chandler explained that it was just a family get together. McNamara nodded and Duke said, "So do you want me to just stand in for you or something...?" Chandler shot her a dirty look before looking at McNamara and saying, "Actually Heather, I think it's better if Heather stands in for me." Duke sputtered and angrily got up and left, yelling "What's your damage, Heather?! You're such a mythic bitch!" Chandler stood up and yelled back, "Thank you! It's better then having no personality and getting implants!" The entire lunchroom gasped. Duke slowly turned around and said, "That was our secret!" Chandler smirked, knowing Duke told everyone she never got implants. The whole lunchroom began to laugh at Duke, imitating her reaction to Chandler sharing her secret. Duke ran off to the bathroom crying. Veronica sat in her seat and McNamara got up. "Heather McNamara! Sit your ass down or else you'll end up like her!" McNamara stared at Chandler and the door before running out the door saying, "I'm sorry Heather. But you'll just have to do without me."
