The Sunbird and Crow (Heather McNamara x JD)

When McNamara awoke 3 hours later, she saw JD had fallen asleep. Careful not to wake him, she slowly got up. She walked to her room and looked in her mirror. Her hair was frazzled and she looked exhausted, despite having slept at least 8 hours the night before and taking a nap. She rubbed her eyes and found her hairbrush and began to brush her hair. Once she brushed it, she decided to put it up so she found a hair tie and put her hair into a braid. She didn't realize how much time she spent on that until JD had knocked on the door. She jumped at the sudden noise but let him in. "How come you got up?" "Sorry...I just...sorry..." The blonde looked at her feet, feeling bad about getting up. JD chuckled a little, "I'm not mad, darling. It's okay." She mumbled nonsense in response. He picked her up and sat on her bed. "C'mon, let's just cuddle or watch a movie." McNamara smiled and nodded. She hugged him before whispering "I love you." JD paused in the moment. He had found someone who genuinely cared and loved him. Someone who wouldn't leave or neglect him. He hugged her back and said "I love you too." The two spent the rest of the afternoon and night watching movies and talking. They ended up falling asleep while watching their 5th movie.

The next morning, Heather awoke to find JD sleeping at her side. She smiled to herself before kissing his cheek. When she went to kiss his cheek, she noticed small red lines covered his wrists and arms. She quickly realized and swore she'd help to stop him from harming himself. She started thinking of ways to make him happy when her thoughts were interrupted. "Good morning, darling." She turned to see JD sitting upright with a smile. She returned the smile before saying "Good morning, Jason." JD raised an eyebrow. "Jason?" She blushed and looked down. "S-sorry. I meant JD." He smiled and hugged her. "No. It's okay, You can call me that. Only because I love you though." She smiled and nodded. They eventually got up, ate breakfast, got ready, and went to school. While holding onto JD, Heather was internally freaking out. She hadn't told JD about the day before. She didn't plan on telling him. "He's got enough to deal with", thought Heather. The ride to school was a blur. Before she knew it, they were pulling into the parking lot. Many students stared upon arrival considering not many people drove a motorbike to school. JD helped Heather off the bike before kissing her cheek and bidding her a goodbye. Heather nervously walked over to where she, Heather, Heather, and Veronica meet up. From a distance she could see Heather Chandler's red blazer. "Weird," thought Heather, "she isn't wearing the scrunchie today." She figured Chandler forgot the scrunchie at home but she always had a back up in her locker. As she walked over to Chandler, she could feel everyone's eyes on her. Before McNamara got to Chandler, Veronica and Duke had arrived. McNamara wondered why Chandler hadn't yelled at Duke when she came over. Instead of yelling, Chandler calmly said something to Duke while looking McNamara's way. McNamara stood in front of Chandler, not meeting her eyes. "Just get over with whatever you're gonna do to me, Heather. I know you're still mad about yesterday..." Chandler shook her head and replied, "I'm not gonna do anything bad to you Heather. You're going to thank me for what I'm about to do. But we'll be discussing the boundaries of things after I'm done with what I'm gonna do." McNamara looked puzzled and she looked at Veronica who only shrugged in response. Chandler walked up to the school steps and stood there for a minute before speaking. "Listen up everyone! That means all the nerds,  assholes, and losers too!" She paused and scanned the crowd, making sure she had gotten everyone's attention. "I'm sure you all have been discussing lunch yesterday. A lot of you have probably concluded that Heather Duke and Heather McNamara are no longer part of the Heathers. Well you're wrong if you think Mac isn't part of the Heathers. But if Duke isn't part of the Heathers, that's up to Mac." The crowd turned to each other, whispering about what Chandler meant. Could Heather Chandler be letting someone else make an important decision for once? "As of now, this school had two leaders. Me and Heather McNamara." The crowd was shocked. Heather Chandler was not only sharing power, but she was giving the most overlooked Heather some power. Chandler stepped down the stairs and met up with Duke, McNamara, and Veronica. "See? I wasn't going to do anything bad. Now get your ass in the bathroom. If you're gonna be a leader of the school, you gotta look the part. Right now you look like some happy fun time cheerleader." McNamara sighed and said "Can't I just stay in these clothes?" Chandler glared at her before sighing and agreeing. The four girls walked into the school in a single file line as if they were in grade school. Heather Chandler was at the front, staring down everyone in the hallways. Heather McNamara was second, she was texting JD. A huffy Duke was third in line with her arms crossed. Lastly, Veronica was writing her diary as always. The girls arrived at their lockers and began to retrieve their books when JD had stopped by. He had a quick conversation with McNamara before waving goodbye to all 4 girls. Chandler and McNamara were talking, Duke was mumbling under her breath, and Veronica? She was writing in her diary. She was writing about how every time JD smiled, she got butterflies. And how he could make her heart flutter. As wrong as it was, Veronica had a crush on one of her best friend's boyfriend and she was out to steal him away...





A/N: So I decided to update this. Don't worry, I'm still updating next week. It's a crappy chapter but it's 2 am and I had a game today. Also, a lot of this will be really out of character for them but this is gonna be an alternate universe where JD is actually stable enough to have a relationship and where Heather Chandler is still a bitch but she's got a heart. Also Veronica hanging with the "diet coke airheads" has gotten to her and she's like traded personalities with Chandler lol. I'm probably also gonna start the Heathers headcannons book tonight.
