"Nini I have something for you" Ricky her best friend told her one day. She immediately looked up "Ok, what is it?" He handed her a grey hoodie. "What is that?" She asked. "Just look at it."

The brunette did as she was told. On the grey hoodie was the logo of east high. "I have one too, I thought we could have matching hoodies when we start high school." She jumped up and into his arms. He barely caught her. "I really really like it, thank you Ricky."

"I'm glad you do. High school will be great as long as you're with me."

It was the beginning of sophomore year and they were wearing their hoodies. "Wow, this school is still huge to me, although it's our second year here" Nini said while looking around. The curly haired boy just admired his best friend.

Later that day during Lunch the four friends sat at one table. "So how about we all go to mine after school" Ricky suggested. "I can't" Big red said. "I can't either" Kourtney added. He looked at the brunette "I can. We could watch a movie."  So that what they did.

After school the two teens walked to his house hand in hand. It's something they do a lot, so people often think they are dating. "What movie are you interested in watching?" He asked when they walked through the front door. "High school musical?" she asked in a hopeful tone. He started laughing "How could I say no to you Neens." "Oh, hey Nini and Ricky" They suddenly heard.

Both turned around to see Lynne and Mike standing in the kitchen. Something seemed off Nini thought to herself, but she let it slip. "We were just going to get a snack and then go upstairs to watch a movie." The two adults quickly nodded their heads. Shortly after Ricky was laying on his bed with a sleeping Nini in his arms.

His best friend had a talent for falling asleep at the weirdest times or in the weirdest places. He was about to turn on High school Musical 2 when he heard screaming coming downstairs. Recently his parents had started fighting more than usual. Until today it was like his little secret, but he knew Nini would definitely wake up from all the noise.

She had always had a light sleep. She turned her body, so she was hiding her head in chest. Ricky chuckled at the sight. In his eyes she had always been beautiful, but now she was sleeping in his arms, which made him feel great. "What are all these noises?" The brunette asked still being half asleep. "Its nothing, just go back to sleep" He whispered into her ear. She just nodded her head before closing her eyes again.

That only lasted for a minute or so before a glass shaders downstairs. Nini abruptly sat up "Ricky seriously what is going on?" She could see the tears in his eyes, so she pulled him into a hug. "You're ok, I'm here." "They have been fighting a lot recently. Even more than normally." She rubbed her right hand up and down his back while her left hand started paling with his curls. Over the years she figured out that that seemed to calm him the fastest. "Thank you for being here Nini." She smiled "I'm always going to be here. I would have been earlier if I knew about it."

He nodded his head guiltily "I know, I'm sorry for not telling you." She just continued to play with his curls "You should get your hair cut by the way."

That caused him to start laughing "Really Neens? I thought you like my curls." She nodded her head "Just a bit shorter. If you cut the curls off, I'm no longer your best friend." "I guess I have to keep my curls then."

A few minutes passed where they just sat in silence until he spoke up. "Thank you, a lot. I was never able to stop crying when they started fighting." Nini smiled "I guess I have to always be here when they fight now."

A couple of weeks later they were hanging out again. This time at Nini's place, since they wanted to avoid his parents fighting. Something changed after that day for both of them Nini felt the need to protect him, and Ricky knew he couldn't live without her.

They were currently watching lemonade mouth, Nini's favourite Disney movie. In the middle of the movie, he looked at her smiling at the screen, wearing the hoodie he gave her and knew it was now or never. "Neens can we talk?"

She abruptly sat up and stared at the curly haired boy. The fear must be visible in her eyes since he grabbed her hand. "It's nothing bad, at least I think so." She started laughing "That really calms me down." Her voice was filled with sarcasm. "But go ahead."

He took a deep breath before starting to talk. "We've been best friends for most of our lives, but recently something changed between us at least for me." A tear rolled down her cheeks. The brunette was scared that he would break of their friendship. "Don't cry Neens. You know how much I hate to see you cry." She wiped at her eyes, but never stopped crying. "Tell me whats wrong?" "But you wanted to say something." He quickly shook his head "I care more about the fact that you are crying."

Ricky wiped a tear away with his hands. Instead of pulling his hands away he cupped her cheeks. Somehow, he figured she was scared of what he was going to say, so he just told her.

„That day where you comforted me after my parents started fighting, I realized that I want us to be more. Being your best friend is just not what I want anymore. I really like you Nini."

Nini just sat there with her mouth wide open. "It's ok if you don't feel the same. I just couldn't lie to you anymore. We can forget this and go back to being best friends." He was cute of by her pressing her lips to his. "I like you too Ricky." Ricky started smiling "So is the reason why you were crying resolved?" She shook her head, which worried him. "I was scared you didn't want to be my best friend anymore and you don't so technically not. But I honestly don't mind it."

He kissed the brunette's forehead "I can still be your best friend if you want me to be." She hid herself in his arms. "I'd like that." That's how that grey east high hoodie become her lucky hoodie. It's the thing she wore when her long-time best friend and crush became her boyfriend. Even after they split up it reminded her of the fact that everything is possible.

I was reading someone's oneshot when a comment suggested this. I don't remember who suggested it, but credit to them. Anyways I wanted to write a part to the last oneshot, but I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do in it.
