Ricky, the captain of the soccer team and Nini, the head cheerleader are the two most famous kids at school and are obviously a thing. They faked falling in love but after a few months Nini actually  started falling for him. She was scared of telling him because she knows he doesn't feel the same.

They were friends but behind closed doors nothing more. They were watching a movie at Nini's house. She came out of the kitchen with a tray with two glasses of coke and some snacks on it. Ricky stood up and helped her. They sat down on the couch kinda close but also far apart at the same time. Halfway through the movie Nini's parents came home so they acted like a couple. Ricky even kissed her but as soon as they were upstairs and out of sight he distanced herself from her again. Nini felt uncomfortable with this, she never complained though. As the movie came to an end she knew that she had to say something or she would never do. She took a deep breath and said "I love you."

In that moment her mom came out of her room and went into the bathroom. The door closed and Ricky smiled "You're good." Nini nodded "I sure am." She turned away and was near tears, why did my mom have to come out now? She thought to herself. How high are the changes of that. They cleaned up and said goodbye, then Ricky went home and Nini went into her room to go cry. The next day at school she acted like nothing had happened. She was standing in front of her locker when Ricky came up to her.

"Morning Babe" He said after giving her a quick kiss. Nini forced a smile "Morning." She said in an a bit moody voice. Ricky whispered into her ear "What is wrong with you?" She shrug her shoulders "Nothing, I guess." Nini walked to class followed by Ricky, who never does that. Normally he has soccer practice in the first period instead of chemistry.

He sat down next to her and the teacher noticed. "Well I'm glad one of the soccer players joined us today." Ricky smiled a bit forced but then looked down again. After about 30 minutes he handed Nini a note. Nini reluctantly read it, it said "You've been acting weird ever since your mom came in yesterday and the moment you said I love you, what is wrong?" She gave him the note back without answering. After the lesson they went into the nearest empty classroom to talk. "Why aren't you talking to me? All this is an act but we are still friends."

She smiled "And that's my problem. I can't do this anymore." Ricky nodded "Ok, well I guess that's the end. Just do my one last favor and tell me why." Nini sighed "Ok, so this was your idea and I liked it at first but then I actually started falling for you and the I love you I said yesterday was real, but you obviously don't feel the same." Nini grabbed her bag and went through the door. As she got to her next class he caught up to her.

„Nini stop" She turned around. "What?" "I had this idea because I had the biggest crush on you but I knew you don't. Nini I love you, I've loved you since the first time I saw. I wanted to tell you but I was to scared that you would not feel the same. I never ever wanted to hurt you. You are the most important thing in my life. Please forgive me." Nini had some tears in her eyes and nodded. "I love you" He smiled "I love you too." They kissed and after went into the classroom holdings hands, being the happiest they have ever been.
