The brunette was packing her bag. "Lea your dad is gonna be here soon" She yelled from her bedroom. Her daughter was standing in the doorway with tears in her eyes. "I don't want to go to Dad's." Nini quickly hugged the girl "You'll be ok. I promise." She got along great with her 13-year-old daughter, but she couldn't say the same for her ex-boyfriend, Ricky. They broke up right after lea was born since both decided it didn't work out anymore. Honestly it was more Ricky than Nini since he found someone else. He had recently gotten married and although Nini was invited she didn't come. Her and his daughter did go, which was important to her.

„But Dad hates me." That broke her heart. "Sweetie you know he doesn't. Plus, I have to go on a business trip, so you have to go. I'm always just one call away." Lea shook her head "You know his wife takes my phone away. Speaking of that I have to pack another book." The brunette kissed her daughter's forehead "You love reading, plus she's your stepmom. You can call her that." She rolled her eyes "Totally. I also get along with her really well."

Suddenly there was a knock on the bedroom door. "Come in" she said a bit unsure of who was on the other side. She smiled as soon as she saw her husband in the door. "Dad" the girl jumped into his arms. "Hey Lea, how was school?" The girl smiled "Great, I got an A in my math exam." He started smiling "I'm so proud of you. You're just like your mom." Lea was like a mini version of Nini. She had long brown hair. she was also just as creative and smart. "I like being like mom. I'm also glad not to have much from dad."

From the day she met her now stepdad she naturally started calling him dad because she never liked her real dad. She still called Ricky dad since his wife would get mad if she doesn't. The curly haired man did not care whether or not she did it. "How was your day honey?" He asked his wife. "Great, except that I have to leave soon." Luke, her husband, kissed her forehead. "my trip just got cancelled so I thought I would build the vanity we got Lea for her birthday over the weekend." The brunette girl smiled "I'd love that dad, thank you." Luke smiled "Of course princess." He started calling her that because the day they meet she was dressed in a princess dress and crown. "I love you dad, but I do not like that name."

Before he could say anything, they were interrupted by the doorbell ringing. "I'll get it" The blond man said. "Go grab that book" Nini told her daughter before grabbing her bag and walking down the stairs. A few minutes later the girl came down the stairs with her bag in her hand. She was wearing a jean skirt and a t-shirt. "Can't she wear something more appropriate" Ricky's wife, Susi said. "It's very warm and I made her pack a pair of pants, so she'll be good." Lea hugged her mom goodbye "Bye Mom, Bye Dad."

As she walked out of the house Nini could see the tears in her daughter's eyes. "I hate that we have to let her go with them. Everyone knows she hates it." Luke kissed her forehead "I know honey, but as long as they don't do anything, we can't change it."

Nini was on her way back from her work trip when she got a call from Luke. "Hey Babe" she had a bright smile on her face since she hasn't talked to him all weekend. "Nini, where are you?" "I'm at the airport. I just landed why?" She could hear him sigh "Come to our lawyer instead. We have to tell you something." The brunette drove there as quickly as she could. The lady at the front desk immediately let her in and she ran into her lawyer's office. "Nina good to see you." The man hugged her, and she quickly hugged him back before sitting down next to her husband. He grabbed her hand.
